The bible says in Luke 2:7 And she brought forth her first born son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
To begin with brothers and sisters the Advent Season or the ( Ad-venire in Latin)season means to come to. It means it is the season that encompasses the four Sundays leading up to the celebration of Christmas. Advent is a season observed in most Christian denominations as a time of expectant waiting and preparation for both the celebration of the Nativity of Christ at Christmas and the return of Christ at the second coming. Advent is the beginning of the liturgical year in Western Christianity. The Advent season is where we prepare and direct our hearts and minds to Christ’s second coming at the end of time and the anniversary of our Lord’s birth on Christmas. From the earliest days of the Christian Church people have been observing the birth of Christ.

I don’t want to be around people who are all mean and ill willed at Christmas time. If you stay around a negative person too long before you know it you’ll start being negative. I always believe that we can make it, that, Hope and I always believe that a soft answer turns away wrath, and that’s having peace or a peaceful spirit, and I always believe that charity covers an multitude of sins and that’s called agape love. and finally I always believe that what God gave me the world can’t take it away and that’s called Joy. Luke 2:14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

In other words in Christian circles the advent period means a new beginning a true restart for the new year. It’s one of the main reasons we make new years resolutions.

I promised to lose weight. I lost 23 pounds according to the Dr.’s scale. not my scale at home. That was my new year’s resolution. I also vowed stop going to quick and handy and buying them pig feet an fried turkey wings.I have been doing good on those things. I also made a resolution not to argue with no church folks and I have not! been arguing with anybody. yes indeed. I vowed to treat my wife and children better and I have. I vowed to start playing my xylophone in public more and I have done ok with that but not back to the levels of 32 years ago when I first started preaching. When I started preaching I kind of stop playing in public. Why am I saying all of this. I’m saying this because we all make resolutions for the new year. And one of the greatest new year’s resolutions you can stick to is strengthening your relationship with Christ. Nobody can do that for you but you. And I submit to you that we ought not let anybody slow us down with our service to the Lord. You ought to praise God more than you did last year. You ought to worship God more sincerely next year because the bible say they that worship God must worship Him in spirit and in truth.

If Jesus hadn’t been born in Bethlehem like the scripture said, if Jesus hadn’t grew up in Nazareth like the scripture said, if Jesus hadn’t performed 10,000 miracles making the lame to walk the dumb to talk the deaf to hear the blind to see and raised the dead and If Jesus didn’t suffer under Pointus Pilate,got beaten by the Jews and the Romans, If Jesus hadn’t suffered on the Cross at Calvary,and If Jesus didn’t die for your sins and mine, and If Jesus hadn’t go up out oof a dusty grave three days later and declared that All power was in his hands, and If Jesus hadn’t ascended up into the clouds to go back to the Father, and if Jesus doesn’t sit on the right hand of the Father making intercession for you and I all of us would bust hell wide open!!! So I’m celebrating the birth of Jesus. And Matthew 1 gives us proof the monganase God 100% man while being 100% God at the same time because Matthew said that Mary’s finance’ Joseph had a time wrapping his mind around the fact that the Power of the Holy Ghost impregnated the virgin Mary and she was with child by the Holy Spirit. Joseph wanted to put her away privily. Because in Jewish culture if your espoused future wife was found to be with child it would be ground for divorce at the least, and at worst stone to death in the public square. Still in all after God talked to Joseph He got his mind right. And sometimes we just have to wrap our mind around the fact that God is in control and if He allowed it or id God orchestrated it we have to accept it and move on. I lot of things I don’t particularly like but I go along with it because I don’t ever want to find myself fighting against the will of God. And then there is John’s concept of the Messiah and how powerful and majestic Christ really is. John 1:1-3 says in the begin was the Word, and the word was with God and the word was God. The same Jesus was in the beginning with God, and All things were made by Him; and without Him was not anything made, that was made. John supersedes the Advent and deals with Creationism.I’m going to out it to you like this.. In the Mind of God the Father He thought of Creation, and In the Mouth of God the Son he spoke of Creation and God the Holy Ghost carried out the actions of the Father and the Son. Because that’s called the trinity One God in three persons. God the Father God the Son and God thee Holy Ghost. equal in every divine perfection with distinct but harmonious offices where there never cross or contradict the other because they are One.

Mankind needed a Savior Mankind needed a Propitiation( somebody to take mankind’s place and pay the penalty of sin) And the book of revelations said Jesus was as a Lamb that had been slain before the foundations of the world. And Jesus came down through 42 generations in the Bloodline of David. Teach Me Pastor. And I heard Jesus I’ll be the seed of the Woman. And God the Father with His Plan for salvation Allowed God the Son to humble himself even to the death on the cross to save mankind. In other words Jesus had already died in eternity past before He was ever born in Bethlehem. teach me Pastor.

Yeah they would say Daddy read the story about Jesus, read the story about David and Goliath, read the story about Noah and the ark read the story about Moses parting the Red Sea etc And it was a store called Fred’s. And Fred’s carried a lot of children book that are age with bible stories that were easy to read.
Well let me be clear I did read simple bible stories to my children at night before they went to bed. Yeah they would say Daddy read the story about Jesus, read the story about David and Goliath, read the story about Noah and the ark read the story about Moses parting the Red Sea etc And it was a store called Fred’s. What am I saying if you want your little children to know God in the personality of Jesus Christ you’ve got use resources that are age appropriate for children to understand. Not only that but Pastors Preachers teachers leaders when teaching the word of God you’ve got to know your audience and you’ve got to make the Gospel portable and palatable for people to understand. One of my neighbors visited me at Pilgrim BC Sunday and she said I like it and I understand what you preaching about I’ll be a back… I’ve known that young lady since she was born and now she grown.yes indeed Make God’s Word understandable because you never know who is listening and turning their live around. I mean God has blessed us so good with a roof over Our head a bed to sleep in a heater when it’s cold and some of us even a fireplace and God has put food on our tables a warm bathroom to take a bath or shower God has provided creature comforts everybody got at least one TV at least one phone at least one radio or cd or dvd or digital music from the cloud etc to listen to music. God has been good to us, And so this Christmas Season make room for Jesus in your little abode tour little inn. I’ll be coming to you with mulitiple lessons on the Advent Period on the birth of Christ on Christmas because it’s the most wonderful time of the year.
