The Person of Jesus Christ

*One thing that we should be thankful for is Jesus Christ and how we recognize him throughout the Gospel.
And I know that sounds normal for us but for a minute, I want to think of yourself as a child, and I want you to think about some of the things that youd dealt with as a child, that you felt like only you delt with. You know for me to be personally I remember struggling with different classmates in my high school, just dealing with the complexity of understanding, but not really understanding, and i remember feeling man nobody gets how I feel right now. I can’t go to my friends, and I definitely can’t go to my parents because they don’t understand. Hopefully as we have gotten older we understand that alot times they understood what we were going through, When I think about my parents, I recognize that they have endured alot more than I have when they were at my own age.
Often times I feel like we forget the feelings and emotions that Christ had, because he was the son of God. Like we may look at other people in the community that may have a higher status, The Joneses they seem to never go through anything even when things go bad. I often look at Christ and think I know it was hard for you but a little bit of me wants to ask you was it? And that answer yes. and its yes because Jesus is human, while he is God he is still human and that means good things with us
The Birth of Jesus: Matthew 1:18-25
Matthew 1:18–25 ESV
Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit. And her husband Joseph, being a just man and unwilling to put her to shame, resolved to divorce her quietly. But as he considered these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet: “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us). When Joseph woke from sleep, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded him: he took his wife, but knew her not until she had given birth to a son. And he called his name Jesus.

so God brought it about by his own power, not through mere human effort. The virgin birth of Christ is an unmistakable reminder that salvation can never come through human effort, but must be the work of God himself. Our salvation only comes about through the supernatural work of God, and that was evident at the very beginning of Jesus’ life when “God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons”

The Body of Jesus:
But ultimately the person of who Jesus Christ is, isnt ultimately just a person of just sacrifice, but a person of joy, a person with emotions, feelings, a person who slept and rested, a person who prayed. We ought to be thankful for the words of the bible when we see that Jesus wept John 11:35. And he marveled in Matthew 8:10 “When Jesus heard this, he marveled and said to those who followed him, “Truly, I tell you, with no one in Israel have I found such faith.” . It says his soul became sorrowful in matthew 26:38 and that his soul was troubled John 12:27 ““Now is my soul troubled. And what shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? But for this purpose I have come to this hour.”

5 Then the devil took him to the holy city and set him on the pinnacle of the temple 6 and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written,

mathew 4:5-6

36 Then Jesus went with them to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to his disciples, “Sit here, while I go over there and pray.” 37 And taking with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, he began to be sorrowful and troubled. 38 Then he said to them, “My soul is very sorrowful, even to death; remain here, and watch with me.” 39 And going a little farther he fell on his face and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will.” 40 And he came to the disciples and found them sleeping. And he said to Peter, “So, could you not watch with me one hour? 41 Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” 42 Again, for the second time, he went away and prayed, “My Father, if this cannot pass unless I drink it, your will be done.

The Blessing of Jesus,

14 Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

if we think for a moment of other possible ways in which Christ might have come to the earth, none of them would so clearly unite humanity and deity in one person. It probably would have been possible for God to create Jesus as a complete human being in heaven and send him to descend from heaven to earth without the benefit of any human parent.
