Now Peter and John were going up to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. And a man lame from birth was being carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple that is called the Beautiful Gate to ask alms of those entering the temple. Seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked to receive alms. And Peter directed his gaze at him, as did John, and said, “Look at us.”
I read this story | and if you don’t know it - The miracle that is about to happen is that Peter is about to heal this lame begger.
This begger - couldn’t get up and chase after Peter - Couldn’t do a thing.
What’s even a bigger miracle - Peter directed his gaze at him.
I think about God sending Jesus - that he saw us - and provided a way.
Jesus - Born of a virgin, with the mission, to go to the cross - What love...
God sees you now - He sees the sin you’re in, but He has already provided you a way - so now, you can come to him, repent.
As we take communion today - Let’s remember that God not only saw us - but He left Heaven, came down, went to the cross to provide a way back to the father.
