The talents parable

Gregory. (Hom. in Ev. ix, l.) The man travelling into a far country is our Redeemer, who ascended into heaven in that flesh which He had taken upon Him.

As we are heading towards to the end of the liturgical year, the world of God is leading us to the end of the times, and the end of our lives, that we may be aware and prepare.

And in this parable, we see another face of our judgment, no for the only by the bad things that we have done, but also for the good things that we haven’t done.

Summarize of the parable

According to the Fathers, the man travelling into a far country is our Lord who is ascended into heaven. And he has trusted all of us some valuable things that we have to profit, this is the span of our life; and then he will return to ask acquittance, this is our final day.

1. All has something to work.

All of us have receive something to work: father I do not have money to give to the poor, but you have time to visit the sick, the elder that are close to you. Many dream one day I will become rich an help many poor, but the small that have today they did no share.

Maybe you say I’m old, I cannot do anything, you are wrong you can pray, you can offer your pains for the conversion of the people

Maybe you can say I’m sick, I cannot to anting, if I where healthy, I will do a lot of apostolates, you are wrong, you can turn your sickness in to the health of many deaths souls

2. No by the wrong that they did, but for the work that they did not do.

Is no enough say I’m not a drunk, I’m not a killer, yes you are like a tree that has no bitter fruit, but is dry if you do no bear fruit, you will cut off. What do you do with this trees?

3. The most valuable the time.

What is your talent doing no wait, because the most valuable is your time, what are you doing with your time.

Imagine that this evening Jesus will pass from your village what he will fund in your time?

Avoid all that is killing your time and are paving your root to hell.

Jesus will pass by here, and will say that woman is my because he come to pray.

And the devil will come an say that woman is my, because his work was to play.
