PRPOSITION: EVERY BELIEVER HAS WHAT IT TAKES TO MAKE A POSITIVE IMPACT
T.S: When we examine the following points we will appreciate that every believer can make a positive impact.
Every believer has the DNA of God which automatically qualifies us to create Kingdom impact.
St. Matthew 6:10
Your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
WHAT IS KINGDOM IMPACT? THIS IS THE MANIESFESTATION OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD IN THE EARTH eg. Salvation of souls etc.
God expects every believer to play his/her part in creating Kingdom impact. However, we cannot and will not make meaningful impact unless we firstly understand who we are?
AN UNDERSTANDING OF WHO THE BELIEVER IS WILL ENABLE US TO CREATE KINGDOM IMPACT
THE BELIEVER IS:
1. GOD’S REPLICA IN THE EARTH
Replica means an exact copy or model of something.
Genesis 1:26-27
When God breathed the breath of life into man he became a living soul. The breath of God represents “Spirit of God” When God breathed into man he deposited Himself into man hence man became a living soul. St. John 6:63. The breath of God represents the spirit which gives life to man.
To be in the image or likeness of God does not mean a physical look. It is therefore, the character of God in man. ‘BE HOLY FOR I AM HOLY…” 1 Peter 1:16. God is saying “you can be what I am.” This likeness or image of God is God giving man His communicable attributes eg. Love 1 John 4:7-8
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.
2. GOD’S REPRESENTATIVE IN THE EARTH
The believer is an ambassor? an accredited diplomat sent by a state as its permanent representative in a foreign country.
The word accredited means that the believer is duly authorised and qualified to represent God in the earth. Why? St. John 1:12
But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God,
The beliver must recognise that he is not a citizen of this wolrd. Therefore, we must live as such
But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,
3. GOD’S ROYAL POSSESSION IN THE EARTH
Royalty comes through birth. We become apart God’s royal family when we are born again. St. John 15:16
You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.
One of the greatest previlege heir of the royal family has is authority ! St.Luke 10:19
Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.
THREE KEYS FOR THE BELIEVER TO HAVE KINFDOM IMPACT
Embrace God’s Promise Acts 1:4-8
And while staying with them he ordered them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, he said, “you heard from me; for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”
So when they had come together, they asked him, “Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
2. ENCOUNTER GOD’S PRESENCE
Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day’s journey away. And when they had entered, they went up to the upper room, where they were staying, Peter and John and James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot and Judas the son of James.
3. ENDUE WITH GOD’S POWER Acts 2:1-4
When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.
