Landon Powell
December 3, 2023
Mathiston First Baptist Church
Report from Council:
The council consisting 16 ordained men and meeting on 11/26/2023 at 2:30 at Mathiston First Baptist examined Landon Powell based upon the biblical qualifications for a minister, his personal testimony of salvation, his articulation of his call to ministry, and his doctrinal beliefs. After testing, the council unanimously recommends Landon to be ordained into the Gospel ministry.
Philippians 1:3-7.
Let us examine a few aspects of Paul’s relationship with the Philippian church as we are charged as a church today in our relationship with Landon:
Paul thanked God for the church. [3-4]
We should thank God for Landon.
Paul recognized the partnership with the church. [5]
We should recognize the partnership we have with Landon.
Paul remained confident of God’s ongoing work through the partnership. [6-7]
We should remain confident of God’s ongoing work in the partnership with Landon and in his ministry moving forward.
This includes both the good times and the bad times.
Charge to the church:
Do you, the members of the church, acknowledge and approve Landon Powell as a minister of the church of Jesus Christ; and will you pray for him in his ministry, and work together with him to accomplish the mission of the church, giving him all due honor and support in his leadership to which the Lord has called him, to the glory and honor of God?
