Isaiah 9:6 ESV
6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Message
Omnipotent God
God has ultimate power and will always use it for good!
Power to Create
God created all that you see
Genesis 1:1 ESV
1 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
God created all that you don’t see
Colossians 1:15–16 ESV
15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.
God created all that you are
Therefore God knows all that you are !!
Psalm 139:14 ESV
14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.
Psalm 139:23 ESV
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts!
Because God created all things, He as the “owner” of all things als then logically has the…
Power to Command
God is able to do what He says
God has AGENCY !!
Ezekiel 24:14 ESV
14 I am the Lord. I have spoken; it shall come to pass; I will do it. I will not go back; I will not spare; I will not relent; according to your ways and your deeds you will be judged, declares the Lord God.”
God is able to command all of creation
Job 9:7 ESV
7 who commands the sun, and it does not rise; who seals up the stars;
Mark 4:41 “41 And they were filled with great fear and said to one another, “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?””
God is able and has give you rules
1 Peter 1:14–16 ESV
14 As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, 15 but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, 16 since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.”
We as created by God are answerable to God in how we interact with God therefore He also has…
Power to Condemn
God has the authority to judge all of creation
Psalm 96:11–13 ESV
11 Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; let the sea roar, and all that fills it; 12 let the field exult, and everything in it! Then shall all the trees of the forest sing for joy 13 before the Lord, for he comes, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness, and the peoples in his faithfulness.
God has authority to judge principalities and powers
Revelation 20:10 ESV
10 and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
God has authority to judge you
God will judge you… me too
Revelation 20:12 ESV
12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done.
God would be just in His use of power in condemning us for we have mistreated Him and His creation… But He who has the power to create, command and condemn also has the...
Power to Cleans
Only God has the power to save!
Ezekiel 36:25 ESV
25 I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you.
Psalm 68:20 ESV
20 Our God is a God of salvation, and to God, the Lord, belong deliverances from death.
Psalm 37:39 ESV
39 The salvation of the righteous is from the Lord; he is their stronghold in the time of trouble.
This was the mystery of Jesus !!
Matthew 9:1–8 ESV
1 And getting into a boat he crossed over and came to his own city. 2 And behold, some people brought to him a paralytic, lying on a bed. And when Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Take heart, my son; your sins are forgiven.” 3 And behold, some of the scribes said to themselves, “This man is blaspheming.” 4 But Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, “Why do you think evil in your hearts? 5 For which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Rise and walk’? 6 But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—he then said to the paralytic—“Rise, pick up your bed and go home.” 7 And he rose and went home. 8 When the crowds saw it, they were afraid, and they glorified God, who had given such authority to men.
Mark 2:7 “7 “Why does this man speak like that? He is blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?””
With all His power, He decided to use it to save us!
Isaiah 9:6 “6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; ... and his name shall be called ...Mighty God!
Matthew 1:23 ESV
23 “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us).
This Mighty God uses His power to empty Himself of His heavenly glory taking on the form of human flesh!
Incarnate God
The saviour must be fully man !!
A Child Born
Isaiah 7:14 ESV
14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
Matthew 1:20–23 “20 But as he considered these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21 She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” 22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet: 23 “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us).”
The saviour must be fully man
The Saviour must be fully God !!
Mighty GOD
Hebrews 2:17 ESV
17 Therefore he had to be made like his brothers in every respect, so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.
Our Mighty God used His power to empty himself of His heavenly glory and take on Human Flesh
A Sacrifice for Sin must be made…
A Son Given
We see the foreshadow of this decreed long ago in scripture…
Genesis 22:2 ESV
2 He said, “Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.”
A sacrifice must be given
That sacrifice must be human
That sacrifice must be divine
Romans 5:12–19 ESV
12 Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned— 13 for sin indeed was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not counted where there is no law. 14 Yet death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those whose sinning was not like the transgression of Adam, who was a type of the one who was to come. 15 But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if many died through one man’s trespass, much more have the grace of God and the free gift by the grace of that one man Jesus Christ abounded for many. 16 And the free gift is not like the result of that one man’s sin. For the judgment following one trespass brought condemnation, but the free gift following many trespasses brought justification. 17 For if, because of one man’s trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ. 18 Therefore, as one trespass led to condemnation for all men, so one act of righteousness leads to justification and life for all men. 19 For as by the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man’s obedience the many will be made righteous.
Our Mighty God, uses His power not only to bring us a sacrifice but takes it upon himself to give His own Son on our behalf… And Gods selfless use of His power does not end there
Not only does God use His power FOR us, He delegates some of His power TO us!
A Spirit Poured Out
1 Corinthians 3:16 ESV
16 Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?
Romans 8:9 ESV
9 You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.
Romans 8:11 ESV
11 If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.
Ezekiel 36:27 ESV
27 And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.
