Many people do not think of the Christian judgment they must face. We read in
10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
This judgement seat of Christ and the Great White Throne judgment is different Revelation 20:11–15
“11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. 14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.”
There are 7 things a Christian will be judge for:
Time
Time
(1) Time—Psalm 90:12“12 So teach us to number our days, That we may gain a heart of wisdom.” Time is precious! What have we done with the time God has given us? The bible teaches us that are life is but a vapor!
Talents
Talents
(2) Talent—Matthew 25:14–15 “14 For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them. 15 And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey. Are you multiplying what God has given you?
Tongue
Tongue
(3) Tongue—Matthew 12:36“36 But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.” The bible teaches us in:
James 3:6–8“6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell. 7 For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and creature of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by mankind. 8 But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.”
Proverbs 18:21 “21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.”
Thoughts
Thoughts
(4) Thoughts—2 Corinthians 10:5“5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,”
Wittness
Wittness
(5) Testimony—Ecclesiastes 12:14“14 For God will bring every work into judgment, Including every secret thing, Whether good or evil.” Your witness, your example to others. What do people think when the see you?
Traits
Traits
(6) Traits—1 Corinthians 3:8“8 Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor.”
Romans 1:1 “1 Paul, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated to the gospel of God”
God desire us to be set apart from the world, separate! a peculiar people, a Holy priest hood.
Works
Works
(7) Works- 1 Corinthians 3:13 “13 each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is.”
James 2:24 “24 You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.”
I. The Saviour v. 31
I. The Saviour v. 31
A. The Son—v. 31. “The Son of Man” means Jesus in human form. Note these words, “The Word was made flesh”—John 1:14. Jesus became a man to understand man. Jesus knows! Nothing you have been through or going through is something that God doesn’t understand!
B. The separation—vv. 32–33. There are just two classes of people—the Christian and the unbeliever.
Christ is the difference!—Ephesians 1:7. By Grace are you saved!
Note those who will be eternally separated from God—Rev. 21:8.
Note the end-time events: Wars and rumors of wars, the love of many will wax cold, the dark trinity, Baal, Ishtar and Molech are taking over our nation as we speak! We are already in a spiritual warfare in the USA and all over the world. We are living in the end times!
II. His Will—vv. 34–40
II. His Will—vv. 34–40
A. Rewards—v. 34. Inherit the kingdom. This means we will share in the glories of heaven. All God’s riches will be ours!
B. What is the Reason for rewards?—vv.35–36.
1. Christians will care for one another—vv.35–36. Christians will help (1 John 3:17; James 1:27).
2. Christians are concern for others—vv.37–39. The people were concerned for others around them not only there family but strangers. The bible teaches us that we maybe entertaining angels unaware!
3. Christlike compassion—v. 40.Doing good to the least (the most unimportant person), regardless of race or status, was Jesus’ way. Jesus is a help in time of need, we should do the same!
Whatever we do, we should do for the glory of God. Doing good works for the praise of man will mean forfeiting the heavenly reward. Do all in word and in deed in the name of Jesus!
III. The Separation—vv. 41–46
III. The Separation—vv. 41–46
A. Eternal Separation—v. 41. Hell is not for Christians, but for the devil and his followers. God desires for all to come to repentance and be saved!
2 Peter 3:9 “9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.”
B. Inconsiderate!—vv. 42–43. They had no time for Christ or to help others.
Good works does not produce salvation, but salvation will produce good works.
C. Willful, presumptuous sin—vv. 44–45. Know what is right, then do it (James 4:17). People willfully do wrong to others in our times! Backbiting, stabbing on another in the back. Look down on others! Unloving! No Compassion for one another! I call them people with murderous spirits! Mean spirited! Ill Spirited! God calls us to righteousness! Love and Compassion!
D. Their Sentence—v. 46. Note the two-fold sentence: (1) Those who refuse to accept Christ, and (2) those who are righteous. Christ’s sentence will be final.
Temporary Christians are no Christians: only the believer who continues to believe will enter heaven.
Charles Spurgeon
CON: Some Christians feel they should do just enough to get by. I want to live the Christian life to the fullest. I want to hear my savior say ”Well done thou good and faithful servant”!
Always do more than is required of you!
Always go above and beyond the call!
Go the xtra mile! Give your coat! Give of your food! Give of your time!
Do it to the Least of these!
How many are with me! Let us pray!
