The Fulfillment of the Law

Matthew 11:7:11

I.          John represented the Law and the Prophets.

II.        John’s Life was acetic.

Separated himself from everyone and living on locust and wild honey. Course animal hair garments.

III.       John’s life is emulated by many current leaders in Christian circles.

The self-abasing lifestyle and living by the statutes of the law, violate the grace of God in Christ.

Well did Paul speak of them in Galatians 5:4 when he said, ”Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.”

IV.       The least of God’s children are greater than John.

            A. “Where sin abounded, grace did much more abound.” (Rom.5:20)

B. “for we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works.”      (Eph.2:10)
