This Holiday season has been a blessing to me for a many number of reasons. In studying through this sermon series I have begun to grasp the anticipation and hope that the people of God had waiting for the Messiah to arrive. It has showed me, taught me, that God does a new thing. And, no matter what condition we may be in, be it our own fault or no fault of our own, God does not leave us there.
God will only allow you to cry for so long before you’re fill with joy.
God will only allow you to grieve for so long before you’re comforted.
God will only allow you to regret so much before he reminds you of the joy of your salvation.
God will only allow the oppressors to go unchecked before he comes down and visits his people.
God will only allow us to suffer for so long before he sends a great reprieve. “Pain endures for a night, but joy comes in the morning” That’s what this season means, that morning has come. The dawn of a new day. God is doing a new thing in our lives and I’m so glad today that I am a part of it! God saw us lost in our sin, lost under the weight of the world’s systems and evils, and he saw fit to save us! (Preach)

He is a Gift to us

This Child is the same child that was promised back in chapter 7 called Immanuel. But, even then the child is a gift. “For to us...” simply put, God didn’t send his son for his own sake. He sent Jesus for ours, and he is a gift to us because God gave him voluntarily for our blessing, benefit, and salvation. The Child, the Christ, Jesus, is a gift. Some people are not the best at giving gifts (elaborate). And when somebody takes time out to get you something you should always say thank you. But, this Gift giver always gives the best gifts! James 1:17 says, “every good and perfect gift is from above..” (Preach)
A son is given, lets us know of his preexistence. That this Child was already someone else’s Son.
“On his shoulder”-he will carry the burden of leadership.
