What Is It that We Know?

✓ Jesus is _________________ God

John 1:1-3 – 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. (New King James Version)

✓ Jesus is the __________________ of God

John 1:3 – Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. (New International Version)

✓ Jesus is the ______________________

Colossians 1:16 – For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities – all things were created through him and for him. (English Standard Version)

Hebrews 1:2 – But now in these last days God has spoken to us through his Son. God has chosen his Son to own all things, and through him he made the world. (New Century Version)

Is There Any Evidence to Verify What We Know?

▸ Jesus created out of _____________________ and/or from existing materials

John 2:8-9; John 6:5-14; John 9:1-12

▸ Jesus gives____________

John 11:39, 43-44 – 39 “Roll the stone aside,” Jesus told them. But Martha, the dead man’s sister, protested, “Lord, he has been dead for four days. The smell will be terrible.” . . . 43 Then Jesus shouted, “Lazarus, come out!” 44 And the dead man came out, his hands and feet bound in graveclothes, his face wrapped in a headcloth. Jesus told them, “Unwrap him and let him go!” (New Living Translation)

▸ Jesus’ method was ____________________ and it happened

John 4:50-53 – 50 Then Jesus told him, “Go back home. Your son will live!” And the man believed what Jesus said and started home. 51 While the man was on his way, some of his servants met him with the news that his son was alive and well. 52 He asked them when the boy had begun to get better, and they replied, “Yesterday afternoon at one o’clock his fever suddenly disappeared!” 53 Then the father realized that that was the very time Jesus had told him, “Your son will live.” And he and his entire household believed in Jesus. (New Living Translation)

▸ Jesus received __________________ from the miracles

Psalm 19:1 – The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. (English Standard Version)

John 2:11 – This miraculous sign at Cana in Galilee was the first time Jesus revealed his glory. And his disciples believed in him. (New Living Translation, se)

John 11:4 – 4 But when Jesus heard about it he said, “Lazarus’s sickness will not end in death. No, it happened for the glory of God so that the Son of God will receive glory from this.” . . . 40 Jesus responded, “Didn’t I tell you that you would see God’s glory if you believe?” (New Living Translation)

What Are the Implications of What We Know?

• Jesus has a _______________ on all things

• Jesus is ______________________________

Psalm 8:3-4 – 3 When I look at the sky, which you have made, at the moon and the stars, which you set in their places – 4 what are human beings, that you think of them; mere mortals, that you care for them? (Good News Translation)

• Jesus _______________ us together

Colossians 1:15-17 – 15 We look at this Son and see the God who cannot be seen. We look at this Son and see God’s original purpose in everything created. 16 For everything, absolutely everything, above and below, visible and invisible, rank after rank after rank of angels – everything got started in him and finds its purpose in him. 17 He was there before any of it came into existence and holds it all together right up to this moment. (The Message)
