Words
There is power in our Words, you ever say something you didn’t mean, You ever say something just to get somebody else to shut up. You ever say lie to somebody. I think often times we forget that our words mean everything. Being more honest I think guys forget everything that we say and girls remember everything that is said from somebody. Especially when they don’t like it. I think sometimes we forget that our words cause drama, and that our words start Gossip. I am guilty of these things, starting gossip, hurting someones feelings. But on the on the other hand, our words have the power, they have the power to lift somebody up. They have the power to say that you love them, And I definitely understand that actions speak louder then words weve heard that saying, but at the end of the day it doesn’t disqualify the volume of your words. Although actions are louder, your words can still be heard.
Here are some bible verses that show the good that words can do and the bad that they can do
Proverbs 16:24 says Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body.
Matthew 12:36-37 36 I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak, 37 for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.
The book of James is all about words, and wisdom, and James in the bible is actually Jesus half brother, Mark 6:3 says Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary and brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon?
And James his hebrew name is Yakob and they probably called him Jacob back then but, we are going to call him james. Lol
But he talks about favortism and love, and what jenuine faith looks like, and then we get to 3 4 and 5 and he talks about the tongue we love the tongue. Lol.
But in chapter 3 he says this
Dear brothers and sisters,[a] not many of you should become teachers in the church, for we who teach will be judged more strictly. 2 Indeed, we all make many mistakes. For if we could control our tongues, we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in every other way.
3 We can make a large horse go wherever we want by means of a small bit in its mouth. 4 And a small rudder makes a huge ship turn wherever the pilot chooses to go, even though the winds are strong. 5 In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches.
But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire. 6 And among all the parts of the body, the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself.[b]
7 People can tame all kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and fish, 8 but no one can tame the tongue. It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison. 9 Sometimes it praises our Lord and Father, and sometimes it curses those who have been made in the image of God. 10 And so blessing and cursing come pouring out of the same mouth. Surely, my brothers and sisters, this is not right! 11 Does a spring of water bubble out with both fresh water and bitter water? 12 Does a fig tree produce olives, or a grapevine produce figs? No, and you can’t draw fresh water from a salty spring.[c] Do yall know what being fake is, try being fake with God and see where it gets you.
If you don’t think your words matter. They do. If you don’t think that God listens to you words, or your not held accountable for your words, your wrong because they do.
you might be thinking, to yourself is this what we are really called too. Yes it is. Ephesians 4:25–32 “Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another. Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and give no opportunity to the devil. Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need. Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.”
This is what we are called to. This here, Everyone in here is guilty of Gossip, Everyone in here is guilty of probalby thinking or saying something bad about somebody. And it aint ok if you are child of God. It’s not. We h
