I believe in God, the Father almighty,       creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,       who was conceived by the Holy Spirit       and born of the virgin Mary.       He suffered under Pontius Pilate,       was crucified, died, and was buried;       he descended to hell.       The third day he rose again from the dead.       He ascended to heaven       and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty.       From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,       the holy catholic church,       the communion of saints,       the forgiveness of sins,       the resurrection of the body,       and the life everlasting. Amen.

Part 1: The Person and Work of the Father

I believe in God, the Father almighty,       creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son,
1. The power and strength of God
2. Part of his strength is his ability to Create “ex nihilo” (out of nothing)
3. Part of his work is sending the Son

Part 2: The Person and Work of Jesus

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,       who was conceived by the Holy Spirit       and born of the virgin Mary.       He suffered under Pontius Pilate,       was crucified, died, and was buried;       he descended to hell.       The third day he rose again from the dead.       He ascended to heaven       and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty.       From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

Fulfillment of Isaiah 53
Crucified, Dead, was buried
He bore our burden to Calvary, took our punishment
Descended to hell
He really died - He actually died
Exaltation
3rd day he rose from the dead
This was the vindication of Jesus
Death was defeated
He ascended into heaven and is Seated at the right hand of the Father
He rules and reigns now
Position of authority
Will come to judge the quick and the dead
From the position of power and authority, he will come again
This time to judge
“I believe in the Holy Spirit...”

Q. 29. How are we made partakers of the redemption purchased by Christ? A. We are made partakers of the redemption purchased by Christ, by the effectual application of it to us by his Holy Spirit.
