I. Jesus’ teaching is Life and Death. (vv.13-14)

Jesus finishes his sermon by explaining the consequences of what he has been teaching.
He illustrates by outlining two gates:
The Wide Gate
Leads to destruction
Many go through
The road is spacious
The Narrow Gate
Leads to life
The path is difficult because of how narrow it is
few find it

II. The Talk and the Walk (vv.15-23)

There are false prophets who are out to devour you.
Notice Jesus language
prophet instead of teacher
you’ll know them by their fruit
This is reminiscent of the Law
Prophets would be known as true or false based on if their word comes true or not
These false prophets are ravenous
Those on the path actually follow the path

III. The Storm is A’cumin’ (vv. 24-29)

His whole sermon has been about living righteously
Judgment is coming

IV. Challenge

Which path are you on?
What fruit do you produce
Are you prepared for the Storm?
