I Promise You!
I Promise You!
God never made a promise that was too good to be true.
Dwight L. Moody
20 For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.
PROMISE. Declaration by one person to another that something will or will not be done, giving the person to whom it is made the right to expect the performance of whatever has been specified.
PROMISE. There is in the Heb. OT no special term for the concept or act of promising. Where our English translations say that someone promised something, the Hebrew simply states that someone said or spoke (’āmar, dāḇar) some word with future reference.
We as Christians should not expect more than what God promises but, there are 8,810 promises, or spoken words from God with future reference in the bible and every promise, every spoken word are for us and to us.
Here are seven promises from God we can focus on and apply today:
I will be with you.
I will protect you.
I will be your strength.
I will answer you.
I will provide for you.
I will give you peace.
I will always love you.
The greatest promises of God are the forgiveness of sin, Peace with God and eternal life.
Where have you seen Gods promises in your life? How can we experience His promises? I want to show you with the Lords help how to see and experience His promises in your life.

I. Through Faith
I. Through Faith
“If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove” (Matt. 17:20).
“If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove” (Matt. 17:20).
A. We should receive the promises with a mental conception of what God can do. What are some ways you experience limits in your life? We often have mental conception of “limiting Beliefs” Like:
“Limiting Beliefs”
“Limiting Beliefs”
I’m not good enough
I’m not strong enough
I’m not smart enough
I’m not experienced enough
I’ll never be successful
I don’t have enough
I’ll never be able to do it
I’m not talented enough
I don’t have what it takes
Often times when we have limiting beliefs we put God in a box, and we sit back and let someone or something else take control and never experience the fullness of what God has for us. How many of us have ever said some of these things? Do you think that God is pleased with this kind of thinking? Can I tell you this morning that with God all things are possible!
B. God is omnipotent “Having unlimited power, able to do anything”. Nothing is too hard for Him. He is able to keep His promises. Our faith brings them to pass
1 John 5:4
“4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.”
Faith empowers us!
Faith empowers us!
Our faith unlocks the unlimited power of God! Jesus told us to ask anything in His name and he will do it! John 14:14. His power is enough and with God we can! We can be and do all the things that our mind and body says we cannot through “ Limiting Beliefs”! By faith many things were accomplished in the bible. Read Hebrews 11!

II. Through The Light Of The Spirit
II. Through The Light Of The Spirit
“Call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured …” (Heb. 10:32).
“Call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured …” (Heb. 10:32).
A. The promises are made clear to us by the Holy Spirit who guides into all truth. Light is truth and the truth will make you free! John 8:32.
Truth and freedom go hand in hand, but truth will produce freedom only as it is used. That ought to be self-evident. We can know something is true, but if we fail to use it, what good is it? Its value is worthless unless it is used. The promises of God are found in the truth of God. The truth of God is the experience of His promises in our lives. Through the truth we become free to enjoy the promises coming to life in our life.
Truth is the light to Promise
Truth is the light to Promise
B. Through the illumination of the Holy Spirit, we can understand His will, way, and work for our lives (John 16:13).

III. Through Inspiration
III. Through Inspiration
“Serve the Lord with gladness” (Ps. 100:2).
“Serve the Lord with gladness” (Ps. 100:2).
A. Inspiration—“A supernatural influence which qualifies men to receive and communicate divine truth”—Webster.
B. Reading God’s promises gives inspiration. Inspiration leads to enthusiasm. The joy of the Lord belongs to those who are inspired and enthused by the promises (Phil. 4:4).
When you are inspired, the dictionary states that: “mentally you are stimulated to do or feel something”. Above all, an inspired person often feels compelled to be different and do better. Its being led by what you allow the spirit to teach you. The word of God stimulates you to do and be a better person. This brings joy in our life. The joy of the Lord is our strength! Nehemiah 8:10.
When you are inspired you become an inspiration through the works of faith in your life. Your faith can be given to those around you.
“… I will shew thee my faith by my works” (James 2:18).
“… I will shew thee my faith by my works” (James 2:18).
A. Our faith becomes effective when we use it. We should be involved in helping the needy, visiting the sick, and witnessing to the lost.
B. Faith and works go together (James 2:14–17). Through faith and works we can see the promises of God fulfilled not only in our life but those around us. How many have seen the promises if God being fulfilled in others?

V. Through Inheritance
V. Through Inheritance
“But be Ye followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises” (Heb. 6:12).
“But be Ye followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises” (Heb. 6:12).
A. Inheritance is a possession or blessing received as a gift, without purchase. The promises of God need not be purchased. They are God’s free gift to us.
B. Jesus Christ promised eternal life to those who meet the conditions. He promised to return and receive us unto Himself (John 14:3).
We also read in:
1 Peter 1:3–5 (KJV 1900)
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
