Inspiration
Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,
and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
Revelation
It is fear that keeps us in bondage
Perfect Love casts out fear!
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.
There is no fear in love [dread does not exist], but full-grown (complete, perfect) love turns fear out of doors and expels every trace of terror! For fear brings with it the thought of punishment, and [so] he who is afraid has not reached the full maturity of love [is not yet grown into love’s complete perfection].
Fear of failure (punishment)
Fear of death (punishment)
Fear of the unknown (trust)
Application
Identify your fears
Lay them at the altar of God
Seek the Lord until fear is gone.
Psalm 34:4 (NKJV)
I sought the Lord, and He heard me,
And delivered me from all my fears.
God met me more than halfway,
he freed me from my anxious fears.
Transformation
Jesus Calling.
“We often glance at God but gaze at our circumstances.” We have it backward. When we learn to constantly gaze at Jesus and only occasionally look at our problems, our fears will fade away.
