10 And it came to pass, when the priests came out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the Lord,
11 so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for the glory of the Lord filled the house of the Lord.
12 Then Solomon spoke: “The Lord said He would dwell in the dark cloud.
A Description of God
A Description of God
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
God is the Word
God is the Word
God is
++The Word manifested
++Eternal in His existence
++The source of all things created
God is Creator
God is Creator
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.
God is with us in Christ
God is with us in Christ
23 “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”
14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
God brings redemption and adoption
God brings redemption and adoption
4 But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law,
5 to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.
6 And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!”
God is Light
God is Light
4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
5 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.
6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.
God is not limited by darkness
God is not limited by darkness
God used the darkness to reveal himself
God used the darkness to reveal himself
13 But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice.’ For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”
16 The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, And upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death Light has dawned.”
The cloud covered the mountain
The cloud covered the mountain
15 Then Moses went up into the mountain, and a cloud covered the mountain.
16 Now the glory of the Lord rested on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days. And on the seventh day He called to Moses out of the midst of the cloud.
Moses was
++Not not deterred by the cloud
++In pursuit of the glory
God is revealed in His Glory
God is revealed in His Glory
10 And it came to pass, when the priests came out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the Lord,
11 so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for the glory of the Lord filled the house of the Lord.
God uses a Cloud
God uses a Cloud
The Hebrew word for cloud means
++A covering
++A hiding place
God’s glory in the cloud
God’s glory in the cloud
“It conceals what we can see to reveal what we cannot see”
30 He must increase, but I must decrease.
His glory reveals our weakness
His glory reveals our weakness
18 Now all the people witnessed the thunderings, the lightning flashes, the sound of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking; and when the people saw it, they trembled and stood afar off.
19 Then they said to Moses, “You speak with us, and we will hear; but let not God speak with us, lest we die.”
17 The sight of the glory of the Lord was like a consuming fire on the top of the mountain in the eyes of the children of Israel.
19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.
God is not limited
God is not limited
He see all things
He see all things
3 The eyes of the Lord are in every place, Keeping watch on the evil and the good.
He knows all things
He knows all things
I know your works
++Your Labour (Rev 2:2)
++Your Tribulation (Rev 2:9)
++Where you dwell (Rev 2:13)
++Your love, service and faith (Rev 2:19)
++Your true identity (Rev 3:1)
++The level of your affection (Rev 3:15)
8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
12 Then Solomon spoke: “The Lord said He would dwell in the dark cloud.
God promises that he also dwells in the dark clouds.
God promises that he also dwells in the dark clouds.
When you
++Cannot see your way
++Don’t know who is on your side
God is not just with you in the good seasons of your life.
