And while they were there, the time came for her to give birth.
Now there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon, and this man was righteous and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him.
consolation=the coming of the Messiah with His salvation for the nation.
The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; to grant to those who mourn in Zion— to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified.

And at the end of eight days, when he was circumcised, he was called Jesus, the name given by the angel before he was conceived in the womb.
I mean that the heir, as long as he is a child, is no different from a slave, though he is the owner of everything, but he is under guardians and managers until the date set by his father. In the same way we also, when we were children, were enslaved to the elementary principles of the world. But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God.

Deliverance in the New Testament centers on Jesus Christ. When Jesus was brought into the Temple area by His parents, Simeon the priest broke out in poetry and singing, declaring that he had now seen the Lord’s “salvation” and could depart in peace (Luke 2:30). The Lord’s salvation centered in the person of Christ, as John the Baptist declared (Luke 3:6). The gospel, the word of truth, has become our means of eternal salvation (Eph. 1:13). Our ultimate deliverance is the salvation of our souls through Christ (1 Pet. 1:9; Rev. 7:10; 12:10; 19:1). We can sing and praise God for our salvation, like Samson, because we have already been granted eternal deliverance from sin.
Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
