1 After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
2 Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.
3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.
4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.
5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.
6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.
9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.
Title “All You Need Is Jesus”
Title “All You Need Is Jesus”
All we need is Jesus.
All we need is Jesus.
There isn’t a single person in this room that doesn’t need Jesus.
Every problem, every issue, every bad time, every sickness, every question can be answered by one thing and His name is Jesus.
There isn’t a single thing that anyone could possible go through that Jesus can’t solve.
All the man needed was Jesus
All the man needed was Jesus
He was only focused on the things he didn’t have.
He was only focused on the things he didn’t have.
He was only worried about not having friends.
Everything he needed was right in front of him.
Everything he needed was right in front of him.
Jesus was everything he needed all along.
If the man only knew he needed Jesus, he wouldn’t have been stuck there for 38 years.
We Have A Choice
We Have A Choice
We focus on the wrong things
We focus on the wrong things
We can be like the man and focus on the wrong things.
We worry about the things we don’t have. I don’t have this, I don’t have that.
I don’t have the nicest house, or the nicest car, or the best job.
I don’t have my entire family in church.
God is looking at us and saying all you need is me.
Having The Right Friends
Having The Right Friends
Friend’s that know all you need is Jesus
Friend’s that know all you need is Jesus
The man said he didn’t have any friends.
He didn’t have anyone to help him get to the pool.
Friends get sick man to Jesus
Friends get sick man to Jesus
17 And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them.
18 And, behold, men brought in a bed a man which was taken with a palsy: and they sought means to bring him in, and to lay him before him.
19 And when they could not find by what way they might bring him in because of the multitude, they went upon the housetop, and let him down through the tiling with his couch into the midst before Jesus.
20 And when he saw their faith, he said unto him, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee.
These friends knew that all he needed was Jesus.
They were willing to scale a building, rip the roof off, and lower him down to Jesus.
They did everything it took to make sure their friend was healed.
Friends that will…
Friends that will…
Get you some friends that will kneel at an alter with you.
Get you some friends that will be there for you in the lowest of times.
Get you some friends that will come to you when you are struggling.
Don’t mad at them
Don’t mad at them
Don’t get mad at your friend if they come to you concerned.
The best of friends are ones who care about your soul.
The best of friends will be the ones who will scale a building to make sure you are healed spiritually.
My Personal Experience
My Personal Experience
My spirit had become crippled.
I was hanging around the wrong people.
Listening to music I shouldn’t have been listening to.
Saying things I shouldn’t have said.
A Friend Saved Me
A Friend Saved Me
She saw what I was doing.
She didn’t care if I got angry.
She told my sister and my sister saved me.
