Isaiah 6 (1-8)
In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. (Israel had just lost for the most part a really good king, King Uzziah. Isaiah is now seeing another King, we know as Jesus, sitting on a throne. A vision? Remember he is situated right there in front of the Altar of incense in line with ark of the covenant and mercy seat – separated by a veil. When Jesus died, the veil was in the temple was rent or torn from top to bottom) Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly. And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory. ( King James speak twain = 2 Covered his eyes in reverence couldn’t behold God’s glory without covering. Covered his feet in humility for the place is the holiest of holies. 2 wings hovering waiting to serve God – and with twain he did fly - to go wherever He sends the seraphim) (Holy, Holy, Holy – Father, Son and Holy Spirit- Triune God – Godhead. In Colossians, Jesus is the fullness of the godhead bodily. Holy, holy, holy in the superlative form in English we would say holy, holier, holiest. Only two times does it appear in Word of God – in Isaiah 6 and in a similar vision of John’s in Revelation 4. No other thrice qādōš, "holy")used – or love, mercy, suffering etc)) And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke. (Possibly broke open the doors in front of the veil with the power of the glory emanating from the throne located in the holiest of holies.)
Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King (not a man, not Uzziah but), the LORD of hosts. (Undone – disintegrating)
Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the alter: and he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged. (When fire of God shows up signifies purifying the good and burning out the evil. ) Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I send me.
