I. DRAWING NEAR TO GOD
I. DRAWING NEAR TO GOD
HEAR THE WORD OF THE LORD
HEAR THE WORD OF THE LORD
2 Chronicles 15:5–6 (ESV)
In those times there was no peace to him who went out or to him who came in, for great disturbances afflicted all the inhabitants of the lands. They were broken in pieces. Nation was crushed by nation and city by city, for God troubled them with every sort of distress.
But you, take courage! Do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded.”
As soon as Asa heard these words, the prophecy of Azariah the son of Oded, he took courage and put away the detestable idols from all the land of Judah and Benjamin and from the cities that he had taken in the hill country of Ephraim, and he repaired the altar of the Lord that was in front of the vestibule of the house of the Lord.
And all Judah rejoiced over the oath, for they had sworn with all their heart and had sought him with their whole desire, and he was found by them, and the Lord gave them rest all around.

TONIGHT WE ARE HERE BECAUSE THE LORD WANT TO DEEPEN OUR EXPERIENCE OF HIM AS A CHURCH. I BELIEVE THE LORD WANTS TO (IS) REVIVE US.

A BRIEF DEFINITION OF REVIVAL:
A BRIEF DEFINITION OF REVIVAL:
REVIVAL IS - “A COMMUNITY SATURATED WITH GOD.” IT IS A MOST INTENSE EXPERIENCE OF GOD THAT YOU FEEL BUT CANNOT EXPLAIN. GOD IS JUST “POWERFULLY AND EXPERIENTIALLY” NEAR.

I BELIEVE THIS IS WHAT THE LORD WANTS FOR US BECAUSE IN EVERY REVIVAL IN HISTORY, IT ALWAYS STARTED WITH THE LEADER JUST LIKE IT DID WITH ASA.

THIS HAS BEEN MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE SINCE MAY OF THIS YEAR.
THIS HAS BEEN MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE SINCE MAY OF THIS YEAR.
BUT AS IT WAS WITH ASA, SOMETHING HAD TO BREAK. THE LORD WAS TELLING ME THAT SOMETHING HAD TO BREAK AND HE IS TELLING US NOW, THAT IF WE DESIRE HIS DEEPENED NEARNESS SOMETHING HAS TO BREAK: IN US, AS A CHURCH AND IN ALL OF US INDIVIDUALLY.

HERE IS THE POINT...
HERE IS THE POINT...
WHEN WE, TOGETHER, BECOME: 1). PAINFULLY AWARE OF OUR SELF-RIGHTEOUSNESS 2); BEGIN TO CRY OUT IN REPENTANCE FOR THE MERCY OF GOD AND 3); DESIRE THAT OTHERS COME TO KNOW HIS LOVE TO KNOW HIS LOVE - WE WILL BE EXPERIENCING REVIVAL

TONIGHT WE ARE HERE BECAUSE WE WANT TO BE A PEOPLE SATURATED WITH GOD. BUT SOMETHING HAS TO BREAK.
FOR A FEW MINUTES YOU WILL HAVE TIME TO ASK OF THE LORD WHAT NEEDS TO BREAK IN YOU. DAID SAYS
Search me, O God, and know my heart!
Try me and know my thoughts!
And see if there be any grievous way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting!
II. MY CREATOR: PRAISE TO AND FOR GOD, OUR CREATOR
II. MY CREATOR: PRAISE TO AND FOR GOD, OUR CREATOR
He is worthy of all; CREATOR (song about and all the earth will shout your name…)
A. Scripture: Palm 24:1-10/ REV 4:11
A. Scripture: Palm 24:1-10/ REV 4:11
The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof,
the world and those who dwell therein,
for he has founded it upon the seas
and established it upon the rivers.
Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord?
And who shall stand in his holy place?
He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
who does not lift up his soul to what is false
and does not swear deceitfully.
He will receive blessing from the Lord
and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
Such is the generation of those who seek him,
who seek the face of the God of Jacob. Selah

Move in and capture my heart and affections so that I can love and adore you more; that I might know You in greater ways in humility and authenticity and spread Your Global Glory throughout before the world; YOU ARE THE KING OF GLORY

ISAIAH 1:1-4 - SAYS THE FOLLOWING ABOUT ISRAEL AND, BY IMPLICATION THE CHURCH:
The vision of Isaiah the son of Amoz, which he saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah.
Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth;
for the Lord has spoken:
“Children have I reared and brought up,
but they have rebelled against me.
The ox knows its owner,
and the donkey its master’s crib,
but Israel does not know,
my people do not understand.”
Ah, sinful nation,
a people laden with iniquity,
offspring of evildoers,
children who deal corruptly!
They have forsaken the Lord,
they have despised the Holy One of Israel,
they are utterly estranged.
EXPOUND BRIEFLY - THEN JEREMIAH PASSAGE: THIS SHOW WHAT OUR “BEING ESTRANGED (IS 1:4) LOOKED/LOOKS LIKE
Has a nation changed its gods,
even though they are no gods?
But my people have changed their glory
for that which does not profit.
Be appalled, O heavens, at this;
be shocked, be utterly desolate,
declares the Lord,
for my people have committed two evils:
they have forsaken me,
the fountain of living waters,
and hewed out cisterns for themselves,
broken cisterns that can hold no water.
READ THIS TOGETHER
If you, O Lord, should mark iniquities,
O Lord, who could stand?
But with you there is forgiveness,
that you may be feared.

Lord, my sin is before me and the guilt that it brings nags at my soul. Forgive me for the ways in which I have allowed self-righteousness and self-sufficiency sinfully impact and influence my life, my words, my actions, my thoughts and my relationships. Right now, Lord, I acknowledge my sin for what it is – cosmic treason; treason against the will and name of You, my Creator, the Holy and Righteous King of Glory. As David beg, In Christ I plead, “Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy.”

As David beg, In Christ I plead, “Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy.”
I confess that I have been indifferent to Your Word and infrequent in prayer, all of which proclaims that I, myself, am enough. “Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy.” I confess that I have made lesser things more glorious than you and have placed my thinking, feeling and believing as my source of truth. “Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy.”

In the name of Christ and on the basis of His life, death, resurrection and ascension, I run to the mercy seat and lay hold of the mercy and grace which grants me eternal pardon for all my sin - past, present and future. Amen and I praise you for Your steadfast love that never lets me go.

PRINCIPLED THOUGHT: WHAT THE LORD COMMANDS HE PROVIDES
He was despised and rejected by men,
a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief;
and as one from whom men hide their faces
he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
Surely he has borne our griefs
and carried our sorrows;
yet we esteemed him stricken,
smitten by God, and afflicted.
But he was pierced for our transgressions;
he was crushed for our iniquities;
upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace,
and with his wounds we are healed.
EXPOUND MAJOR POINT: THE GREAT EXCHANGE
rom 5
For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.
For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die—
but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.
For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.

You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.
