Verse 8-12

Announcement to Shepard's? A unexpected and even despised group of men. Usually considered lower class.

Fear Not! After calming the shepherds’ fears, the angel declares what God is doing. Humanity has nothing to fear when God moves in grace.

Verses 13-14

* The heavenly host (ARMY)(The Battle against Satan and Sin is about to get real!) strikes up in praise to God, giving Him honor for what is taking place! Lessons from the message of this Christmas Song of Praise:

1. We should praise God for the gift of His son!

2. This is God’s goodwill peace offer to mankind! To restore fellowship to a broken relationship (Gen Ch 3)

Verses 15-20 Mary’s reassurance of the Messiah! God’s son!

LOOK at verses 25-32! A man named Simeon and his Prophecy

1. Simeon was a Just and Devout Man! Are you?

2. He was waiting on the promised one! The Consultation (COMFORT OF ISRAEL)

3. The message of his prophesy! AMAZING!

*Closing-

JUST AS YOU ARE!

The greatest event in history had just occurred! The Messiah had been born! For ages the Jews had waited for this, and when it finally happened, the announcement came to humble shepherds. The good news about Jesus is that he comes to all types of people, including the plain, the ordinary, and the outcasts of society. He comes to anyone with a heart humble enough to accept him. Whoever you are, whatever you do, you can have Jesus in your life. Don’t think that you need extraordinary qualifications—Jesus accepts you as you are.

C.S. Lewis said this, “ The Son of God became the Son of Man so that sons of men MAY become sons of God.”

*JESUS COMES FOR ALL, BUT NOT ALL RESPOND TO AND BENEFIT FROM HIS COMING!
