Key Verse: v.3
25 verses; 608 words
Grade: 7.9
Written: A.D.68
Outline:
I. God’s Work. vs.1-3
II. Godless Wonders. vs.4-19
III. Godly Workers. vs.20-25
Responsible - (adj.) answerable to somebody; reliable
Responsibilities - (noun) something to be responsible for
Here are our RESPONSIBILITIES in Jude

I. Contending.

3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
Contend” - (1828 definition 2) To strive; to use earnest efforts to obtain, or to defend and preserve.
You have opposition. An enemy.
You have opportunity. Study and be prepared.

II. Remembering.

17 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
“remembering” - (1828) having in mind
The words.
The epistles prior and including Jude.

III. Building.

20a But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith
“building” - construction; starts with a purchased property.
After a purchase plans are made.
After plans a design is decided on.
A list of materials is made then gathered.
Workers are employed to get the job done.
You are building up yourself on your most holy faith.
That will take:
Holy purchase.
Holy plans.
Holy parts.
Holy people.

IV. Praying.

20b …praying in the Holy Ghost,
This refers to praying when no one else can hear and what you will never tell anyone else. Matthew 6:6.
This refers to taking time to pray what you know to pray so the Holy Ghost can pray what He knows to pray. Romans 8:26-27.

V. Keeping.

21a Keep yourselves in the love of God
Believers must develop the love of God by learning of Him.
We must never stray from God’s love.

VI. Looking.

21b …looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
“mercy” (1828) tenderness of heart which makes a person to overlook injuries, or to treat an offender better than he deserves
If we would treat people that wrong us they way we wronged Jesus life would be different for us first then them later.
The problem we have is rooted in our bad temper.
The problem we have is pouting.
The problem we have is unforgiving.
What we need is to reflect on Who gave us eternal life and the forgiveness He showed us and the reconciliation He provided.

VII. Presenting.

24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
There is a day planned in the future.
That day we will not be proud.
That day we will not be holding grudges.
That day we will not be fault finding.
On that day we will be trophies that bear his name and His accomplishment in the one thing you could never ever do:
keep you from falling
present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy
Ephesians 2:8–10
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Conclusion:

Take a long look at these responsibilities.
They like you are all His.
Is He accomplishing these responsibilities in you?
