SLIDE 2 “LOVE CAME DOWN”
Today’s message is Love Came Down
Its’ the Love of God through Jesus His Son that forever changes us
It’s Love of Jesus that really “keeps us in check” its our banner of standard we strive for everyday
It’s put within us through Holy Spirit and activated because God first loved us
SLIDE 3
John 3:16 NASB95
16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
Here is that famous verse of God first loved us
A love that no man had ever known
Maybe because there is so many blessings of God given to us through His love in His Son
SLIDE 4 I will not read this just put on screen
Psalm 36:7 NLT
7 How precious is your unfailing love, O God! All humanity finds shelter in the shadow of your wings.
One of the most wonderful miracles of love is how that love draws us all the time.......in so many ways He uses His love to draw us closer.......brings a repentant heart out of us......to humble us......bring out thanksgiving and on and on
How His love seems to always be our shelter and refuge
King David wrote much about God’s unfailing love
All these components of His love are used in keeping us in His love and there is no safer and better place to be ....amen?!
SLIDE 5
UNFAILING LOVE / LOVINGKINDNESS
He-sed (Hebrew) - loyalty, joint obligation, faithfulness
unconditional love
SLIDE 6 I will not read this just put on screen
At the perfect time the love of God has touched us and still does this very way. No matter what our story or testimony is. His love came at the perfect time
And then it never stops working in us from that right time that day of salvation, that day we surrendered our life to Jesus
SLIDE 7
GOD’S LOVE CAME DOWN
His Love Changes Us
We can agree that day of surrender to Christ changed us and is a work in progress all the time......called the process of sanctification
SLIDE 8
GOD’S LOVE CAME DOWN
His Love Changes Us
His Love Grows Us and Builds (forms) Us
His love in us works like a potter working the clay
SLIDE 9
Being in God’s word also takes on this process as we are being transformed by the renewing of our minds by God’s word
The Word of God is Jesus so most definitely the love of God molding us in the Word of God
Jesus’s love makes a man a true man, a woman a true woman, a friend a true friend, a husband a true husband, a wife a true wife a father a true father a mother a true mother
His love is there molding us and growing us in our life challenges
SLIDE 10
Romans 5:3–5 (NLT)
3 We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. 4 And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. 5 And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because He has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with His love.
SLIDE 11
GOD’S LOVE CAME DOWN
His Love Changes Us
His Love Grows Us and Builds (forms) Us
His Love Flows Through Us and Out of Us
No chapter of all the bible is so well written about love in us and flowing out of us as 1 Corinthians 13.
SLIDE 12
I’s so glad God took a number that many consider an unfortunate number.....the number 13 and covered it with 13 verses about His love in us
1 Corinthians 13 truly defines all aspects of real love
SLIDE 13
The unsaved man can no more experience this kind of love than can a marble statue! It takes the indwelling of the Spirit of God in the life, and the empowering of that Spirit, for anyone to display this kind of character in daily life.
Why did Holy Spirit pen this chapter through Paul?
Its not hard to figure out that in previous chapters and latter chapters the church was desiring miraculous experience
But whenever the church strives for miraculous experiences rather than Christian Godly love, holiness and character, there will be division, confusion, and carnality
SLIDE 14
1 Corinthians 13:1–3 (NLT)
1 If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing. 3 If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing.
SLIDE 15
1 Corinthians 13:4–7 (NLT)
4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud 5 or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. 6 It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. 7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
SLIDE 16 LOVE WITH BULLESYE AND DART IMAGE
Paul starts off the next chapter in the first sentence “LET LOVE BE YOUR HIGHEST GOAL”
Only the love of God through Jesus can operate through us to others with such pureness, all other is not a true kind of love, normally the world distorts it.
SLIDE 17
1 Corinthians 13:13 (NLT)
13 Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.
