John 3:16 ESV
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
Why did God send his son?
Why did Jesus come?
So we could have a relationship with him once again
we know from the garden that god intended to wak in daily relationship with mankind..
But sin came into the world
and seperated us from him
what is sin?
sin it choosing to live outside the boundries that god has set for us in relationship..
its living in disobiedeince to god..
and because adam and eve sinned..
we have all sinned.
humanity was tainted..
but we also walk in sin..
Romans 3:23 ESV
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Romans 6:23a (ESV)
For the wages of sin is death
No physical death..
spiritual death..
eternal seperation from the god who created us and desired to be with us..
eternity is for ever..
and thats the prodcut of sin..
of our distance between us and god..
BUT..
Remember john 3:16..
God made a way..
and he sent Jesus ..
and the rest of romans 6:23 says this..
Romans 6:23b (ESV)
but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
You see Jesus is a gift who has been given us..
out of great love..
gods great love for us..
Romans 5:8 ESV
but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
You see Jesus was given..
HE came to earth..
not just to live..
but to die..
in our place.
for our sin..
remember sin requires death..
and Jesus came and dies for us..
so that look as paul writes in romans 10:9-13
Romans 10:9–13 (ESV)
if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
Saved from what?
spiritual death..
eternal death..
eternal seperation from god..
eternal suffering..
You see God sent Jesus to live and die..
So that we can choose to live..
and not just live..
but live well..
look what paul goes on to say about the live given to christ..
Romans 5:1 ESV
Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Romans 8:1 ESV
There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
Romans 8:38–39 ESV
For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Have you decided to call on him yet?
thats what this is all about..
