Matthew Part 91: The Final Judgement

text: Matthew 25:31-46.

Vs 31-33

Vs 31, time and place

this is the final judgement

“he will sit on his throne”

same phrase as Matt. 19:28.

isn’t he on his throne now?

already but not yet. same as kingdom, vs 34.

now he is on his throne officially. then he will sit on His throne and all will realize it. Every knee will bow, Phil. 2:10.

Shepard separating sheep and goats

for people who are not shepherds, there inst a big noticeable difference in the face. but the shepherd knows by their activity. sheep are more prone to follow. goats are more prone to wander.

they have different diets

right hand is a place of honor, sheep

we are called sheep many places, John 10, Ps. 23, Ezekiel 34.

blessed by my father

inherit the kingdom

prepared for you

this was the end goal for humanity

vs 35-36

they displayed changed hearts and showed what it was to be made in the image of God through their actions

we know that these works are not the means for them gaining heaven

not of works

Jesus - Matt. 7:22, Luke 18:9.

Paul, Romans 4:5, Eph. 2:8-10.

Works are the evidence of faith. healthy trees bear good fruit (Mt. 7:17.) you dont bear good fruit to become a healthy tree.
