Introduction

Beloved, I want to remind you of a fundamental truth that we must hold close to our hearts.
Our help does not come from man, it comes from the Lord!
Can I get an amen? Amen!
Turn with me now to the book of Psalm, chapter 121, verse 1-2.
Scripture Psalm 121:1-2
Psalm 121:1–2 CSB
I lift my eyes toward the mountains. Where will my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.

Context

This passage emphasizes the trust and reliance on God as the ultimate source of help and protection.
The psalm begins with the psalmist lifting their eyes to the mountains and questioning where their help comes from.
This imagery of looking up to the mountains could represent seeking guidance and support from the physical creation of God.
The psalmist then answers their own question, declaring that their help comes from the Lord, who is described as the Maker of heaven and earth.
By acknowledging God as the Creator of all things, the psalmist emphasizes His power, sovereignty, and ability to provide assistance.
The psalmist assures us that the One who watches over them never slumbers or sleeps, emphasizing His constant vigilance and unwavering care.
It assures us that God is a constant watchful presence, who neither sleeps nor slumbers, ensuring that our feet will not slip, symbolizing that He will keep us steady and secure in our journey.
Psalm 121:1-4 expresses trust in God as the ultimate source of help and protection, recognizing His unlimited power and unwavering presence in the lives of His people.
The Word of the Lord says, "My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth."
Brothers and sisters, our God is the Creator of all things.
He is mighty, powerful, and omnipotent.
He is the source of our every need, our every provision, our every help.
So today, let us learn from His Word, and discover three ways we can receive the help of the Lord.

1. First and foremost, we must come to God with a steadfast faith.

James 1:2–4 CSB
Consider it a great joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you experience various trials, because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its full effect, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing.
Faith, my brothers and sisters, is not just a mere belief, but a confident assurance in the character and promises of our Heavenly Father.
When we approach Him with a faith that is unwavering, regardless of our circumstances, we tap into His divine power.
Our confidence then becomes a catalyst for receiving His supernatural help.
Somebody shout, "Hallelujah!" Hallelujah!

2. Secondly, we must humble ourselves and seek His guidance through prayer.

2 Chronicles 7:14 CSB
and my people, who bear my name, humble themselves, pray and seek my face, and turn from their evil ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.
Oh, somebody needs to hear this!
In the busyness of life, we can tend to rely on our own strength and wisdom.
But when we humbly bow before the Lord and lay our burdens at His feet, something miraculous happens.
He begins to release His divine wisdom, direction, and help into our lives.
We must be a people of prayer, unceasingly seeking His guidance.

3. Lastly, my brothers and sisters, we must trust in God's timing.

Isaiah 40:31 CSB
but those who trust in the Lord will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not become weary, they will walk and not faint.
Somebody needs to be reminded of this truth today.
The Lord operates outside of time, and His timing is always perfect.
When we surrender our impatience, when we let go of our desire for immediate help, and fully trust in His timing, we position ourselves to receive His best for us.
Somebody say, "God's timing is always perfect!" Hallelujah!

Closing

Brother's & Sisters, let me share with you the goodness of our God.
He has helped us in the past,
He is helping us now,
and He will continue to help us in the future!
I can testify today that I've seen His hand of deliverance and provision over and over again.
When I was down to my last dime, He provided a financial breakthrough.
When I felt overwhelmed by the storms of life, He carried me through the turbulent waters.
When I faced impossible situations, He made a way where there seemed to be no way!
Somebody give Him the glory He deserves!
So, my brothers & sisters, let us embrace this truth:
Our help comes from the Lord!
He is faithful,
He is mighty,
and He is always there for us.
When we come to Him with unwavering faith,
when we seek His guidance through prayer,
and when we trust in His perfect timing,
we position ourselves to receive His divine help.
As I close this sermon,
I encourage you to reflect on the ways God has helped you in the past.
Think about the ways He is helping you now.
And with great assurance, my brothers and sisters, trust that He will continue to be your help in the future.
