Isaiah 40:31 CSB
but those who trust in the Lord will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not become weary, they will walk and not faint.

Introduction & Context

My beloved brothers and sisters, tonight I want to remind you that delay does not mean denial.
I know that sometimes in life, we find ourselves praying and seeking God's intervention in various matters, but it seems like the heavens are silent.
We feel discouraged and wonder if our prayers are being heard.
But I'm here to encourage you and remind you that God's timing is perfect.
In Isaiah 40:31, we learn that those who place their hope in the Lord will renew their strength.
They will soar like eagles, they will run without growing weary, and they will walk without fainting.
This scripture assures us that God is aware of our prayers and petitions.
However, sometimes, He wants to test our faith and our commitment to Him.

Application

Throughout the Bible, we see examples of individuals who had to wait on God's timing.
One such example is Abraham.
God promised him descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky, yet he and his wife Sarah waited many years for that promise to be fulfilled.
Their bodies were aging, and it seemed unrealistic, but they held on to their faith, knowing that God's delay was not denial.
Similarly, we may find ourselves waiting for answers, breakthroughs, or miracles.
It's during these times that we must remember God's faithfulness and hold on to His promises.
His delays are not denials.
He sees the bigger picture and knows the perfect time for everything to fall into place.
As Christians, we are called to persevere in prayer.
Even when we don't have immediate answers, we must never give up.
Waiting on God teaches us patience, trust, and strengthens our faith.
Our waiting seasons are opportunities for growth and spiritual refinement.
So, my brothers and sisters, let us continue to hope in the Lord.
Do not grow weary or faint-hearted when there seems to be a delay in His response.
Be encouraged by the stories of how God has come through before in the lives of our biblical characters, and cling to the fact that He is faithful.

Closing

As I close, remember Isaiah 40:31, where God assures us that those who hope in Him will renew their strength.
Hold on to the truth that God's delay is not denial.
Keep praying, keep seeking, and keep trusting, for in due time, He will fulfill His promises and open doors that no one can shut.
