Intro

what does it mean to be holy?

Crossing the Jordan

a sign that God is with Joshua
a sign that God will keep his promises
a sign of the end of an era and a generation
entering into something new

Kings and Angels

they cross over on dry ground and camp outside Jericho
the whole world can see that the Hebrew people have overcome one of the greater natural boundaries in a single day
what would normally take a ton of time and assets
from Jericho to the Med, the leaders have heard the stories and can see the writing on the wall
Joshua has an interesting meeting on Holy ground with a character that is hard to pin down

Application

all these rituals and formalities seem a bit silly to us
Isreal sets its self apart from the rest of the world as they enter the promised land
Joshua does away with what is unclean on him in the presence of either God himself or one who is in the presence of God
you and I are meant to be people who live a life as though the savior were living through us
but do you always separate yourself from things that God would ask you to if you were to be walking toward him?
