THE GREAT COMMISSION,Psalm 67-68,

THE GREAT COMMISSION,Psalm 67-68,

Can you find me an Old Testament Prophet that lays hands on the blind so that they receive sight ?

Tell me anywhere in the Old testament where God shines a light into a persons life and they come

from darkness into His light ? via a prophet !!

There are no miracles of the blind receiving sight through a prophet in the Old testament,

interesting ha !!

In fact you might refer to 1 Kings 18:41-45 but this is about waitng and receiving the revelation

that the spiritual be seen

God brings revelation and light to those that walk in darkness

Creation has been on the great commission since the dawning of time bringing light to those

who walk in darkness

And now we come to Psalm 67 and 68

Lord we come to you now and we know that you talk to us all the time, you wait for us

to respond back to you

Lord all creation speaks of your name and your majesty

We are your mouthpiece but you speak without mouths, your creation speaks without

a mouth and remains silent until the time of your appearance when we shall see you face to face

Then shall the silent mountains tremble and the earth rejoice and all your people who are called

by your name shall praise you as they have done and will continue to do throughout eternity

Lord speak now and let your voice be heard, even by those who have closed their ears

In Jesus name amen

Psalm 67

1 May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine upon us, Selah

2 that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations.

3 May the peoples praise you, O God; may all the peoples praise you.

4 May the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you rule the peoples justly

and guide the nations of the earth. Selah

5 May the peoples praise you, O God; may all the peoples praise you.

6 Then the land will yield its harvest, and God, our God, will bless us.

7 God will bless us, and all the ends of the earth will fear him.

And so the light that lit up the darkness brought revelation to the mass that was formed by the maker,

where else could the mass come from? but from the creator Father God who was never created

and therefore the ONLY one who could create out of nothing

And He formed the universe and the times and the seasons and the earth out of the mass as He

brooded over His creation that was in the process of being created "In the beginning "

And He brought light into the darkness and the darkness could not comprehend it, this revelation

could only be from God for only God knows the beginning from the end and Only He could be in

all places at the same time as all at once

The darkness can never comprehend because the darkness can only be in one place at a time !

There being a difference between the "Darkness" as in Dark and darkness as in unlit

As in the same way God brought about light which was the light of the sun, being different from

the light of the world who said "let there be light"

The light that was formed and made was the light of the sun but also a spiritual light that brought

revelation to the world

Nothing knew what it might be "In the beginning " this was only brought about by the revealing

of God

Darkness was upon the face of the deep in Genesis, this can be seen as a darkness without revelation

A Darkness where things not yet created waited for God to place and give order

The Darkness can also be seen as the "darkness without a light" or the sun

Many walk in darkness even now, blind and lame, for how can they walk unless they can see ?

God brings revelation to that darkness and the light shines down into the valley of the heart

They that walked in darkness have seen a great light.... as the scriptures say

Creation had to listen for the voice of Him who speaks, creation had to watch and to wait

For in everything there is a time and a season, nature knows this, but man often fails to notice

this,

Nature could not survive without the sun and neither could we, nature could not survive without the Son and neither can we

Lets begin

(I have a picture and a person is looking into the mirror and he is looking at His reflection in the

mirror, now the picture has changed and there is simply a reflection but the person is not there)

I have no idea how this message will come out or what it will form into , Im just going to type and we shall see what happens

THE GREAT COMMISSION

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth and His thunderous voice echoed

through the expanse of what was to be space and time as we now know it

In the beginning of time that was made for man to live in and under , God created and life came

into being, the one who is life created life and that life was formed and made to praise and to glorify

Him who made all things

All creation came into being through the Word and life was formed by that breathe of life

The atoms and the elements obeyed and formed and moulded together as they were ordered and stood

in assembly in front of the Throne of God to give an account of their being

When all was done and created God "stepped back " or "rested"

He looked at that which He had created and stepped back to admire and it was good, he was "well

pleased"

Next time you finish decorating or finish a job and you step back to look at what you have accomplished

remember that you are made in the image of God ...a kind of reflection

And so God "stepped back "

Have YOU ever stepped back ? have you ever... have you ever stepped back ?

Now and again its good to step back from life is'nt it ? you might say " well I have'nt got time

to step back from life " !!

Well in our bus'yness we can always step back, we can rest in Him

We know that our rest is not in a day but our rest is in Him and He never rests buts is always busy

creating and "stepping back " to look at that which He has created

He stepped back when Jesus was baptised and said "This is my Son with whom I am well pleased "

He steps back when He looks at us and says the same thing "YOU are my son /daughter with whom

I am well pleased "

He steps back to watch you, YES YOU ALONE, as if you were the only person on His footstool

He kind of steps back and begins to talk to you, because He is an intimate God, He wants you

He wants to be intimate , He wnats relationship, He wants and longs for your heart

He steps back as if you were the only person alive and speaks to you and says "With you I am well

pleased " WHY ? because He see's the reflection, He see's His Son

Its not about what I can do or we can do or anything we can do, we do not have to strive to please Him

We cannot earn His favour or His companionship, He loves us because God is love

And so God steps back as He did in the beginning and He admires the work of His hands

His new creation, you the new creation, me you us and He "Steps back " to look

But His work is not finished yet Jesus cried out "It is finished "

Mmmm a paradox right ?

The battle was won although it is still being fought....

The creation is finshed and yet God still creates today and if you say He doesn't then how did you become

a Christian ?

He rested on the seventh day and yet God never rests or grows weary and throughout the time that

He created for man He continues to create because God is THE creator

And He who had finished His work continues to work in His people

And He who has won the battle continues to rage war in the heavenlies

And He who stepped back in the beginning ....continues to step back today to look in the mirror

and to see His reflection

God is the Alpha and the Omega, He is at the beginning of time that He created and at the ending

of time that He created and He goes on throughout eternity whether that has a "kind" of time or not

It is in His way and in His time

We are saved yet we are being saved, we are Holy yet we are being made Holy, God has rested yet

He continues to create and the new heavens and the new earth are created yet are still to be created

depending on how the finite mind can comprehend where God is !! does that make sense ?

If He were here now with you I wonder if He could actually be on the new earth ?

mmm maybe even with you now ? does that blow your recepticals ?

Well maybe God knew of every day of your life even as He created the heavens and the earth ?

Where do you see God ? yesterday ? > today ? > forever > ?

Yet He is in you as a new creation , moulding and shaping, transforming and renewing, you might say

"You are evolving "

Are you a young Christian ? then great, let that firy volcano erupt from that new creation

Are you more mature in your Christian faith ? has the molten mantal formed a hard skin ?

Where does God see you ? does He see you in that mirror ? or have you wandered off ?

Is the reflection that is meant to be there ...kind of wandered away ?

Creation rejoiced is it was compelled to be moulded into the fashion of the maker...in the beginning

And we know that the curse fell on man and on the ground

Genesis 3:17 “ Cursed is the ground for your sake;In toil you shall eat of it ,All the days of your life.

We also know that Jesus became a curse for us Galatians 3:13-14

We are redeemed and we as new creations walk in the old and the old order of things will pass

away and we shall saved

Creation still points to God and gives an account of its maker, we can still see the fingerprints of God

in creation and we know that all did not come about by chance, creation groans and waits

Romans 8:18-27 22We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth

right up to the present time.

Romans 8:23 even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting eagerly for our adoption as sons,

the redemption of our body.

Mark 4 the mustard seed...I wonder if the mustard seed is under the curse ? what do you think ?

All creation declares the glory of God and cries out as it did in the beginning

Luke 19:40 40"I tell you," he replied, "if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out."

Even the very trees and the mountains and the hills

Isaiah 55:12 You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst

into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.

All nature waits in eager expectation and listens and hears and cries out

All nature witnesses and on this great commission nature itself preaches and evangelises

Like a mirror reflecting its maker the earth exalts and makes a declaration and lifts up a banner of

praise

We know of the great commission and Psalm 67 decares that the earth shall praise God

We also know of the great commission in Matthew 28:16-20

Now lets go to Psalm 68 and we see that this Psalm is about the transportation and moving of

the Ark of the Covenant and we see a similiar reading in Numbers 10:35

Psalm 68:24 states :

24 Your procession has come into view, O God, the procession of my God and King into the

sanctuary.

What a joyous occassion as people rejoice and sing and march towards the Temple Of Jerusalem

Indeed God is in us and with us and we march on towards that Holy Jerusalem the City Of Our God

He is indeed in us and with us and beside us and all around us and we are also marching onwards

to be with Him

To be in His prescence and to know Him face to face

That place where God is....

That communion with God and fellowship with God that like "In the beginning" is almost tasted

but not yet seen

Almost like a mirror image of the garden of Eden the place we are going to is a place where God is

Like a new earth...

Creation goes out into all the earth and spreads its roots deep into the soil

How BEAUTIFUL was the garden of Eden, can you imagine its beauty ?

As the first sunrise lifts above the horizon and Gods glory shines upon the first of Gods Creation

As the light dawns on the first heart and a new creation is born !

For the the Light shall shine in the darkness and out of darkness shall spread forth light and this light

shall go forth into all the earth and to the gentiles

For those who walk in darkness have seen a great light and the valleys shall be raised up

Those who are poor and lowly shall be raised up

And the mountains shall be laid low as the proud and haughty are brought down

And all shall be levelled and there shall be a level path and He shall clear the way and make straight the paths

And those who walk in the shadow of the valley shall see a great light and their paths shall be

iluminated and the light shall shine before them

Wow and they shall walk with the creator and their paths shall be directed by Him

How beautiful are the feet of Him who brings good news announcing peace in Zion Isaiah 52:7

You see He is the one who saves and He is the light

I want to share with you one more thing Psalm 68:30-31

I wonder how many are paralyzed with fear ?

I wonder how many are lame with unbelief ?

I wonder how many (including me )are not walking like they should be with God because of

"what others might think "

I wonder how many times Jesus walked past the lame man at the gate beautiful ? in Acts 3

You might wonder why Jesus did not heal the lame man ?

I wonder how many times Jesus must have walked past the lame man ?

I wonder why Jesus did not heal the lame man ?

You see God waits, God wants to use people, God wants to use us, God wants to draw us into

His plans

Peter and John were the ones assigned for this purpose and this appointment at this time, at

the right time

And the lame man went leaping and jumping and praising God

I wonder what others thought as David went into Jerusalem leaping and jumping and praising God ?

(I have a picture and a person is looking into the mirror and he is looking at His reflection in the

mirror, now the picture has changed and there is simply a reflection but the person is not there)

Lets pray

Lord God in Jesus mighty name you come to seek and save the lost, you come to set the captives free,

you come to draw out and to raise up, you come to declare freedom and liberty, you come to shed your

light into the darkness of our lifes,

Yours in the sunrise and let that sunrise ....rise up in our hearts and let there be a dawning of a new day, bring revelation Lord, let our old ways and old thoughts and old attitudes be replaced with new paths and renewed minds and new ways of thinking.

Let my and our attitudes be your

beatitudes and let those who mourn now be comforted and those who are meek inherit the earth

Let those who show mercy receive mercy, bless the persecuted Lord.

Let us arise and leap for joy

Therefore the redeemed of the Lord shall return, And come with singing unto Zion;

And everlasting joy shall be upon their head.

Isaiah 51:11

Let the buds of faith rise up Lord, let the roots grow down, as the earth declares the glory of the Lord

for this is the way and the purpose of creation

In Jesus name amen
