Why did God become a Man?

A. To restore people to God's original intention for us. (5-9)

1. Angels don't have the unique honor given to people. (5)

Revelation 2:26 NASB95
‘He who overcomes, and he who keeps My deeds until the end, to him I will give authority over the nations;

2. God's design was for people to rule over creation. (6-8a)

3. God became a Man. (9)

Isaiah 32:18 NASB95
Then my people will live in a peaceful habitation, And in secure dwellings and in undisturbed resting places;

B. To unite people with God. (10-13)

Isaiah 6:3 NASB95
And one called out to another and said, “Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord of hosts, The whole earth is full of His glory.”
Romans 5:10 NASB95
For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.

1. Salvation could only come through suffering. (10)

2. Salvation welcomes people into God's family. (11)

3. Heaven celebrates God’s children. (12-13)

Hebrews 11:6 NASB95
And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.
Luke 12:24 NASB95
“Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap; they have no storeroom nor barn, and yet God feeds them; how much more valuable you are than the birds!
Luke 12:27 NASB95
“Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; but I tell you, not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these.

Take time to consider the gifts of restoration and unification that God gives in Jesus.
