Esther 8:13–17 NASB 2020
A copy of the edict to be issued as law in each and every province was published to all the peoples, so that the Jews would be ready for this day to avenge themselves on their enemies. The couriers, hurrying and speeded by the king’s command, left, riding on the royal relay horses; and the decree was issued at the citadel in Susa. Then Mordecai went out from the presence of the king in a royal robe of violet and white, with a large crown of gold and a garment of fine linen and purple; and the city of Susa shouted and rejoiced. For the Jews there was light, joy, jubilation, and honor. In each and every province and in each and every city, wherever the king’s commandment and his decree arrived, there was joy and jubilation for the Jews, a feast and a holiday. And many among the peoples of the land became Jews, because the dread of the Jews had fallen on them.

8 13 A copy of the writ was to be issued as a decree in every province and published to all peoples, and the Jews were to be ready on that day to take revenge on their enemies. 14 So the couriers, mounted on their swift royal steeds, hurried out, urged by the king’s command. The decree was issued in the citadel of Susa.
15 Then Mordecai went out from the presence of the king, wearing royal robes of blue and white, with a great golden crown and a mantle of fine linen and purple, while the city of Susa shouted and rejoiced. 16 For the Jews there was light and gladness, joy and honor. 17 In every province and in every city, wherever the king’s command and his edict came, there was gladness and joy among the Jews, a festival and a holiday. Furthermore, many of the peoples of the country professed to be Jews, because the fear of the Jews had fallen upon them.1

Revelation From God
Author
The author of Esther is unknown, if you believe that this is a fictional tale. If you believe, as I believe, that is a true story that actually occurred, then the best guess at the Author would be Mordecai!!!!
Date
The exact date the book was written is unknown, however Xerxes reigned from 485-456 BCE, thus the Book of Esther has to have been written close to these dates.
History
The ‘Purim,’ from which the Festival of Deliverance comes from, which is the festival that occurs in Esther, for the casting of Lots, that sealed the fate of the Jews, the day in which they where to be massacred, Esther 3:6–7, Esther 16:19–23, but instead where delivered from, is an actual festival.
