Good morning,
welcome to The Pointe Church.
Thank you for coming this morning to celebrate God With Us.
Isn’t it incredible to think that God would lay aside his Kingly robes and trade them in for strips of cloth in a cow feeder?
Jesus humbled himself as a baby.
He made himself one of us, to live life on this earth fully human, and fully God.
Today everyone will be able to participate in our service together,
so you will be doing some reading and singing along with us.
We thought it would be appropriate to have Matthew be the one to read from Matthew Chapter 1.
Angels sang about it.
Prophets foretold it.
The arrival of the Christ child, freshly birthed from Mary's womb, was to be an outward and visible sign - to those with the eyes to see - of an inward and spiritual mystery.
In the precious moments of conception and of birth a vast ripple in the fabric of time and space would burst open for an instant.
And God would become a human being, identifying himself with His creation.
Through the line of Jesse, he would become Emmanuel, God with us.
