Introduction: Flowing from the Passover Feast, a holiday reflecting on the freedom God so graciously gave to His people from ancient Egypt long ago—
This Lord’s Supper magnifies God’s powerful saving work…
His faithful goodness & love to us
It compels us to look…
backward, remembering Jesus’ sacrifice the cross for us—
at the present, repenting from sins & setting our heart aright with God
forward, knowing that one day the Lord will return & we will enjoy this feast with Christ in His fulfilled Kingdom (Luke 22:16; 1 Corinthians 11:26)
And it directs us to look toward one another
To consider if our relationships are Christ-like & God-honoring
