Let’s not forget everyone's favorite 5th Sunday potlucks and a Thanksgiving meal.
Then December has been busy with a Christmas parade and Chili Dinner on the same day in which we showed our love to the community, and I heard many great things about the church.
2 Baptisms
8 first time visitors
4779 given to missions through SBC and ABSC
4 new members
Let us not forget our faithful members who are unable to come to church but still attend with us online through Trinity Roundup. God has been faithful and as you can see he has blessed us in many ways with growth occurring in almost every area of ministry. Yet how have we measured up to our goals from last year. Last year was the year of Godliness.
First we were to living for Christ sharing him with those we meet
4 new members and 2 baptisms and 8 first time visitors. Thats roughly 16% in new members 8% in baptisms and 33% in visitors of our membership rolls. Though there is always room for improvement I see a church seeking Christ
Second that we live transformed lives.
This one is not so easily measured. However I have seen growth in many of you as you follow Christ. Though we may still have a long way to go we are steadily climbing higher. Let’s keep climbing!
Third we were to abide in the Gospel
We have studied 13 books of the bible this year and started a few others that we will continue into 2024.
Truly we are growing in knowledge and understanding as well as application of His word.
We even have had Chick and David step up this year to lead Sunday School.
Church I tell you Job well done. Though we have not achieved Godliness true progress has been made let us continue to climb higher and higher as we seek to follow him.
Yet what is the trail we take from here? This past year we focused on ourselves and the internal health of the church. This year my challenge to you is to look out into your neighborhoods and communities around your homes and this church and seek to show the love of Christ.
2024 The Year of Neighborly Love
2024 The Year of Neighborly Love
And behold, a lawyer stood up to put him to the test, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” He said to him, “What is written in the Law? How do you read it?” And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” And he said to him, “You have answered correctly; do this, and you will live.” But he, desiring to justify himself, said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?” Jesus replied, “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who stripped him and beat him and departed, leaving him half dead. Now by chance a priest was going down that road, and when he saw him he passed by on the other side. So likewise a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan, as he journeyed, came to where he was, and when he saw him, he had compassion. He went to him and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he set him on his own animal and brought him to an inn and took care of him. And the next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper, saying, ‘Take care of him, and whatever more you spend, I will repay you when I come back.’ Which of these three, do you think, proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell among the robbers?” He said, “The one who showed him mercy.” And Jesus said to him, “You go, and do likewise.”
