Making any New Years Resolutions?

God gave His people 10 commandments; they turned them into 613 ordinances.

The longer a religious denomination exists, the more complicated and less relational it becomes; the less God-focused/more man-focused it becomes.

Jesus turned the 10 commandments and the 613 ordinance into 2.

Most believers try to live by willpower, and while your will is important, it must be used as God intended.

Ok, so willpower isn’t that answer; what is? A relationship, evidenced by daily communion with the Holy Spirit. Period. End of discussion.

God gave us a free will that we might choose Him, thus having access to live in His presence and by His power.

The most important choice you will ever make, is to give up on religion and choose a relationship with the Godhead.

RULES ARE IMPORTANT, BUT POWERLESS

Galatians 2:19–20 KJV 1900

19 For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God. 20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

19 What actually took place is this: I tried keeping rules and working my head off to please God, and it didn’t work. So I quit being a “law man” so that I could be God’s man. 20 Christ’s life showed me how, and enabled me to do it. I identified myself completely with him. Indeed, I have been crucified with Christ. My ego is no longer central. It is no longer important that I appear righteous before you or have your good opinion, and I am no longer driven to impress God. Christ lives in me. The life you see me living is not “mine,” but it is lived by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

7 Yet all of the accomplishments that I once took credit for, I’ve now forsaken them and I regard it all as nothing compared to the delight of experiencing Jesus Christ as my Lord! 8 To truly know him meant letting go of everything from my past and throwing all my boasting on the garbage heap. It’s all like a pile of manure to me now, so that I may be enriched in the reality of knowing Jesus Christ and embrace him as Lord in all of his greatness.

THE ONE RESOLUTION YOU NEED

Matthew 6:31–33 NLT

31 “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ 32 These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. 33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
