Acts Ch. 8

Saul is talked about in more detail. He was definitely not a nice guy. Most of us have known people like Saul. This man approved of the murder of Stephen, which we talked about last week. I firmly believe that while Saul’s conversion was God’s plan, Stephen praying that God not hold this sin against him was a catalyst for his conversion.
Now to Philip, Philip was another of the disciples. He was much like Stephen. He preformed many miracles through the power of the Holy Spirit. In the midst of the work he was doing, we meet Simon the magician. He had been doing things that amazed the people, but he wasn’t satisfied with just that. When he saw what Philip was doing, he wanted it as well.
Problem is, he wanted to buy the gift. Peter and John went to pray that these new believers would receive the Holy Spirit. But when Simon saw this, he offered them money for it.
