Prayer

Hello guys! Guess what! It is the last....Sunday…of the year. The LAST Sunday of 2023! So for our lesson today, we are going to reflect. I am going to ask you guys some questions, I want each of you to answer one at a time, okay? Lets start recently...
What new things did you get for Christmas?
This year, did you meet any new people/make new friends?
Is new better than old?
why or why not?
How is old better than new?
What about the other way around, how is new better than old?
(grab your bible.)
Let me show you guys something....
(show how there's an old testament and a new testament of the Bible)
So why do y’all think there's an old testament and a New testament of the Bible?
have them answer
I'm gonna tell y'all. The word :testament” means Gods agreement. So these are Gods agreements with people who trust and follow him.
The Old testament was written before Jesus came to earth. In the Old testament we can read about the beginning of creation, about Noah, Moses, the old way of how to get to Heaven.
Does anyone know what the old way to get to Heaven was?
It was by sacrificing animals. That is how people got to Heaven. But! That was only temporary, wasn’t it? God had a plan to permanently rescue people.
In the New Testament, Jesus comes, the church was formed, a new beginning started.
And how do we get to Heaven now?
We don’t have to sacrifice animals now, do we? If we screw up, and we disobey, we ask for forgiveness and do our best to not do it again. We don’t have to kill animals to be forgiven.
And guess what, soon this way of living will be the old and there will be a new new. Because heres the deal, Jesus is going to come back and this world will be destroyed, but those people that have accepted Jesus will be saved. At the very end of time, there will be a new Heaven and a new earth where there will be no more evil, no more sadness, no more pain, no more sin. All the evil and the bad will be thrown into the lake of fire for all eternity. But only for those that accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior will there be eternal life and peace. So if any of you have any questions and don't know if you’re saved or not, let me know and we’ll talk.

17 This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!
