A society without honor is under the judgment of God (Isaiah 3:5).
Honor has not disappeared, but it has become relative. You honor what you like. Honorable things have stopped being something universal, and it became a matter of taste. However, society honor wealth and fame. Honor and authority, honor is due to authority, authority is understood differently in the Bible.
There are honorable characteristics so therefore honor is to be given as a necessary reward for honorable behavior, but also honor must be given because of someone’s position of authority.
2 Corinteni 8:21
1 Peter 3.7 (Honor because of character, honor because of position and honor because of understanding the limitations).
There is no authority because the society has promoted the value of pleasure and self-fulfillment more than that of self-sacrifice and community. Therefore, authority is viewed as an enemy against self-fulfillment. Authority keeps order and unity through love and truth, but our culture obsessed with self, cannot accept the idea of a someone above yourself, because it cannot.
Unable to live in a homogenous community because of lack of universal values, the individuals become alienated from one another since everybody is his own God in his own world and cannot bear to have another one being for fear of losing control. Fear
