Have you ever said the words “They just don’t get it” Argument, feeling, maybe your a teenager and your parents just don’t get it.
I often think, Man, Sometimes God feels so far away - and yet, one of the miracles of the Cross is that it provided us a way back to the father.
One of the other miracles is that Jesus gets it, if you feel distant - Even with the Cross.
Psalm 22, speaks of Jesus’ crusifiction, and it starts with;
My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, from the words of my groaning?
But I am a worm and not a man, scorned by mankind and despised by the people. All who see me mock me; they make mouths at me; they wag their heads;
1,000 years before Jesus would go to the cross, this was prophesied as the way Jesus would feel, what He would go through.
Could the Son of God, part of the trinity, really feel distant from God? The answer is yes…
And Jesus, hanging on the Cross, cries out -
And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” that is, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”
So if you feel distant from Jesus today - NOt only has he made a way for you through HIS BLOOD POURED OUT FOR YOU.
He Gets it, He can accept your cry, and He can lead you back to the father.
Save me from the mouth of the lion! You have rescued me from the horns of the wild oxen!
Cry out, He will rescue you. May the cross today nring
**Prayer**
Just before we get back into some Worship, I want to read end of this psalm.
I will tell of your name to my brothers; in the midst of the congregation I will praise you: You who fear the Lord, praise him! All you offspring of Jacob, glorify him, and stand in awe of him, all you offspring of Israel! For he has not despised or abhorred the affliction of the afflicted, and he has not hidden his face from him, but has heard, when he cried to him.
He HAS HEARD!!!!
