There is time for everything under the Sun. We can do anything but not everything at any time. Part of applying godly wisdom is discerning the time and season of doing what is required.
Today's gospel reading says: "When the time came for the purification rites required by the law of Moses." Mary and Joseph set aside their busy schedules and took Jesus to the temple.
Psalm 100
1 Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. 2 Serve the Lord with gladness: Come before his presence with singing. 3 Know ye that the Lord he is God: It is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. 4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, And into his courts with praise: Be thankful unto him, and bless his name. 5 For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; And his truth endureth to all generations.
JOYFUL SOUND
JOYFUL SOUND
The writer of this Hebrew hymn(Ps.100) calls all nations to come to Jerusalem to worship the Lord and acknowledge his goodness to Israel and the individual. But I do not want you to travel to Israel to worship and praise the Lord because the time has come for the true worshippers to worship the Father in spirit and in truth, for the heavenly Father is looking for such worshippers. (John 4:23).
From January first to the last day of the year(2023) is a perfect time for the nations(any person or group of people) to gather to make a joyful noise to the Lord. Making a loud, joyful noise requires recognizing and acknowledging who you're worshiping. To make a joyful noise does not mean all things are going great for you. But rather a decision to shout and praise God in the midst of the circumcisions.
THINGS TO KNOW
THINGS TO KNOW
The Psalmist gives us things the noisy worshipper needs to worship and praise his/her God.
Imperatives:
# 1. MAKE A JOYFUL/CHEERFUL OR HAPPY NOISE:
# 1. MAKE A JOYFUL/CHEERFUL OR HAPPY NOISE:
O come, let us sing unto the LORD. Let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.
Ps.95:1 that’s a sound of joyful noise. You may ask: what noise should I make?
Ps.98 says: “O sing unto the Lord a new song; WHY ? For he hath done marvellous things.”
# 2. WORSHIP
# 2. WORSHIP
Joyfully serve the Lord. I you gladly serving the Lord? You are made for service unto God. some one wrote this about Worship:
“There are many activities we do in this life as Christians that we will not do in heaven. However, there is one activity we will continue to do in heaven: worship. We will worship God forever. Given this, we can look at worship in this life as a kind of practice for eternity.”
Revelation 4:8 “8 Each of the four living creatures had six wings; they were covered with eyes around and inside. Day and night they never stop, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, who was, who is, and who is to come.”
Are you serving with gladness or complaining?
# 3. COME
# 3. COME
An invitation to join in the worship and adoration of the Lord. No special skill is required all you have to do is excised you free will and accept the invitation to come. Come in His awesome presence.
In His presence there’s fullness of joy (Ps.16:11)
We can find the path to life in the presence of the Lord through Jesus Christ. - Matt. 7:14
We Come to His glorious presence through Faith. - Jesus says in Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
# 4. KNOW
# 4. KNOW
You can not make a joyful noise, you can not worship and you can not come in the presence of God until you “know” something. You must have both intellectual and experiential knowledge.
Secondly, to “Know” is to obey God.
The very first thing we must know is to acknowledge that the LORD is GOD. The Bible says in Hebrews 11:6- Anyone who wants to come near to God must believe that God exists and that God cares enough to respond to those who seek him. Do you know that?
To know God is to treat God with respect and honor. He is not a god but THE GOD beside Him there none other.
Secondly, we must define who we are and who we are. God has made us, and not ourselves, no matter what the media and society are saying about who you are. Know that you did not come from monkeys or Alps. We are His people and the sheep of his pasture.
Are you HIS sheep?
Are you HIS sheep?
God’s sheep must hear or listen to God’s voice and follow Him.
John 10:27 “My sheep hear my voice, I know them, and they follow me.”
If we know God and acknowledge Him than we must follow the written word of God and the inspiration of of the Holy Spirit.
