GIVE ME LIBERTY
2 Corinthians 3
17Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
4:1 Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;
2 But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.
3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.
6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
Psalm 145:18 The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him,

Give me liberty, or give me death!" Patrick Henry delivering his great speech on the rights of the colonies, before the Virginia Assembly, convened at Richmond, March 23rd 1775, concluding with the above sentiment, which became the war cry of the revolution.
There is nothing like having freedom in the Spirit!

Sin, Carnality, Evil influence Prohibits One From True Liberty
You Can Be Free From Shackles of Sin, Addiction but if you don’t walk away from their environment…you will never know liberty.
Liberty is getting away from the chains that used to bind you, letting them go.
Walking out from the prison cell
The Sinful Nature Has To Be Crucified & Put Away For Liberty To Be Birthed!
Dog returns to it’s vomit
Pig to Mire
The sinful nature needs dealing with!
Romans 8:6-7
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
Sin Has To Be Put Away
This comes by REPENTANCE
Repentance is NOT an option.
Sin has to be confessed and surrendered.
Admitted with godly sorrow
Godly sorrow vs. worldly sorrow
Worldly sorrow is feeling bad about the failures in one’s life
Concerned about how I fumbled in everyone else’s eyes, I didn’t meet the expectation of others or being embarrassed and ashamed of the foolish actions one did.
There is heavy condemnation and shame with worldly sorrow…some can’t handle the consequences of their mistakes.
Many time this is associated only because one gets caught, their actions comes to the light in front of everyone.
Godly sorrow is stimulated because of the shame of falling short of the will of God.
I have displeased God.
Godly sorrow inspires change and hope through the Atonement of Jesus Christ.
Worldly sorrow pulls us down, extinguishes hope, and persuades us to give in to further temptations (Adam and Eve hid, Cain hid his blunder)
Godly sorrow leads to conversion and change of heart.
It causes us to hate sin and love goodness.
2 Cor. 7:10 For xgodly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.
True Repentance
There is Admitting
There is Submitting
There is Committing
One admits, submits to the Lord (surrenders) and commits their life to the ways of God.
There is a sincere cry, “O God show me…Let Your Light sine in my heat and reveal my sins that I can truly change!
We have nothing more important than to make such surrender to the Hand and Plan of God in our lives.
Baptism As A Sincere Commitment
It must be more than a ceremonial exercise it must be a deep vow
We must have our sins remitted through repentance and baptism
Self must be crucified so to speak
The burial of water in the Name of Jesus Christ must be something you too must submit to and make a commitment to God and to the Church.
In Order For Liberty To Be Birthed , We must do Something With Sin While God is moving on us!
It’s worth the liberty.
Personal meaning can’t come outside of Christ!
Man of Gadara -out of control life, nothing helped till Jesus
Woman with Issue of Blood - nothing helped till Jesus
Weight of Sin….Sackcrete 80 pounds off of shoulders
Hebrews 12:2 …lay aside everyweight and the sin which so easily besets us.
Root in Sewer Line
Galatians 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
2 Peter 2:20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me;
Because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek;
He hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord,
And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all that mourn;
To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion,
To give unto them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they might be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.
