The New Bible Commentary 8:1–13 Meat Sacrificed to Idols

what is true of God’s relationship with us is also true of the Christian’s relationship with others. The man who loves is the one who really knows while the man who says he ‘knows’ does not necessarily act in a helpful way to others. This is the real issue because some Corinthians are not acting out of love but are simply exercising their rights

Knowledge Puffs up

Godet stated “”knowledge devoid of love and of power to edify, when we look at it more nearly, is not even true knowledge.”
we are to seek knowledge YES
Philippians 1:9 ESV
And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment,
Proverbs 18:15 ESV
An intelligent heart acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge.
God will send knowledge- Jeremiah 3:15
Jeremiah 3:15 ESV
“ ‘And I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.
Knowledge is typically gained through books, research, and delving into facts.

Love Builds Up

true agape love should not simply characterize the things we say but should actually control our actions.
when a Christian is controlled by love and growing in true knowledge, he is no longer concerned so much about how much he knows God or about God, but is driven by the fact that he is known BY God.
1 John 4:10 ESV
In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
When everything about you is known by someone and they still choose to give their lives for you is the greatest love. this is the love of Christ.
John 15:12–14 ESV
“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you.
How do you operate Christian?
Are people brought closer to God by your relationship with them no matter how long or short?
Are Christians strengthened in they’re faith as a result ?
Are people glad to have met you?
