Story of when I went mountain climbing. I was stuck on a ledge. Below were rocks, no room to get speed to jump over. Just a little ledge, and nothing to grab on to.
How often we find ourselves in trouble when we follow our own advice.
Fools
Fools
There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.
What do we do when we get in trouble? We call upon the Father.
The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, To all who call upon Him in truth.
For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
My father came when he heard me cry out. He had a solution. Follow my instructions and you will be OK.
He grabbed my hand. I leaned forward, happy that all would be well.
Fell
Fell
THEN I FELL
Now what? Is there any hope? I gave my life in my father’s hands, and yet I fell. What happens when we as Christians fall? Are we lost forever?
All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.
Then He came to Simon Peter. And Peter said to Him, “Lord, are You washing my feet?”
Jesus answered and said to him, “What I am doing you do not understand now, but you will know after this.”
Peter said to Him, “You shall never wash my feet!” Jesus answered him, “If I do not wash you, you have no part with Me.”
Simon Peter said to Him, “Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head!”
Jesus said to him, “He who is bathed needs only to wash his feet, but is completely clean; and you are clean, but not all of you.”
He who is baptized - i.e. Has given their life in Jesus’ hands, need not continually be baptized. Jesus gave us the footwashing to remind us that we need to be rededicated to Jesus after traversing through a sinful world. What a wonderful miracle. Jesus never lets go, but gives us opportunities to come back to Him.
Firmly in His Fist
Firmly in His Fist
Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.”
With a strong hand, and with an outstretched arm, For His mercy endures forever;
In whose hand is the life of every living thing, And the breath of all mankind?
Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time,
Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
