3 And the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, Wherefore is this that thou hast brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst?
4 And Moses cried unto the LORD, saying, What shall I do unto this people? they be almost ready to stone me.
5 And the LORD said unto Moses, Go on before the people, and take with thee of the elders of Israel; and thy rod, wherewith thou smotest the river, take in thine hand, and go.

When You are called By God to be a leader there are some things you can expect.
The is the second crisis that takes place in Exodus 17. God’s people have run out of water. Their memory is short. They have forgotten the deliverance of the Lord back at the Red Sea.
leaders must expect: the people they lead will
murmur and threaten.
Leaders must expect the devil to offer a exit strategy.. Because at times we forget.
And for a moment Moses forgets, too. He is heard to say: “Lord, what shall I do unto this people? They be almost ready to stone me” (Exodus 17:4),
Whoever told you that there were no problems in the walk with God? Lied.. Mo Problems
I always wondered why in Scripture many many great things that happen where rehearsed into the ears of the Children of Isreal.
Then i started pastoring and realized. The enemy makes believers forget what God has done..
The people had quickly forgotten miracle number one and two at the Red Sea and now they join in a chorus of complaining. As Moses talks to God he finds no panic in heaven. God is neither shocked nor disappointed but moves right ahead to show Moses the way.
You have to expect:
You won’t have all the answers
to keep a submitted prayer and fasting life
You have expect people will not understand what you are doing. and will want to question you……
“And the Lord said to Moses, Go on before the people,
God instructs Moses go on before
In other words stop trying to be there friend and come out of the click and lead them..
Leading from the front not the back or middle requires everyone to see you for who you are. ITs no blending in..
When you personalize complaints, murmur’s & threats its because you have become emotionally invested in them as a friend and not as a leader.
This is what you need in your leadership Survival Kit:
take with thee of the elders of Israel;
The Lord shows him who he should be connected to when it comes to leading people.

2. AND THY ROD, wherewith thou smotest the river, take in thine hand, and go” (Exodus 17:5).
The rod! Do you remember what it symbolizes? It stands for a relationship with God in which God has control.
It suggests the power of a God-anointed life,
the Spirit-filled life,
a life sold out to God.
And God thoughtfully says, “Don’t forget the rod!” Here is the key to continuing: REMEMBER THE ROD! Remember that it must not be by human might or by human power but by the Spirit of God!
Can You guess what todays symbol of that Rod is??
It’s The Holy Ghost…. …
You can’t lead nothing in the Kingdom of God without the Rod…. …
