The 3 components of the Gospel”

The Desirable Nature of the Gospel

Everything you store up here on earth will pass away. Everything you live for here on earth will be forgotten.
Only what God offers man, has any true value, beyond the temporary and fading benefits of this life
Talk about St Francis. A man who wanted to be happy, Who cared not for his riches
Matthew 13:44 ESV
“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.
another one
Matthew 13:45–46 ESV
“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls, who, on finding one pearl of great value, went and sold all that he had and bought it.
The arrival of the Kingdom of Heaven and the Gospel here is unanimous.
Those who come to Christ by faith, come into the Kingdom of God, His promises, His family, His people, His promised land
This is a spiritual reality.
Would you live for this Gospel?
Talk about Iraneus from Antioch
Would you give up your life for this Gospel?

Separation of Law & Gospel

All throughout the bible, we find scripture littered with;
Commandments & Promises
The Law is concerned with the commandments of God His Demands upon Man
The Gospel is concerned with the Promises God makes to the righteous. His people who are faithful to him His Benefits unto Man
The Gospel contains nothing in it whatsoever for us to do.
It is completely and only a message of what Christ has done
You may believe the Gospel has no strings attached but faith. Do you struggle to believe it? Do you live like one who knows their freedom from Sin?
The Gospel is free
Romans 1:16–17 ESV
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”
2 Ways to Salvation —>
We cannot OBEY THE LAW (that path is about works) - A Path Reserved for Christ
but we can OBEY THE GOSPEL (that path is about faith in Christ’s works)
Romans 10:16–17 “But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?” So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.”
Romans 16:26 “but has now been disclosed and through the prophetic writings has been made known to all nations, according to the command of the eternal God, to bring about the obedience of faith—”
Romans 1:5 “through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith for the sake of his name among all the nations,”
The Gospel is news. It is the good news. it is the declaration of Gods victory
God has defeated Sin and death.
What does that mean for me?
Everything that is His is now ours.
Its like a poor man marrying into a rich family. all you debts go away, all your problems go away.
The Law is what was done.
The Gospel is what I get to receive because of that work
Go through Romans, highlighting your bible in 2 colours

3 Things the Gospel offers us

1. The Forgiveness of Sin (Permanent)

We are now able to enter into relationship with God. We are made clean and Holy in His sight by the proxy of Christ. Our SInful track record isnt just wiped… its deleted. God no longer keeps them in the system...
That is a work that cannot be added to
That is a work that cannot be undone.
Ecclesiastes 3:14 ESV
I perceived that whatever God does endures forever; nothing can be added to it, nor anything taken from it. God has done it, so that people fear before him.
Romans 8:1 ESV
There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
If you truly Believe
If you know upon God
Do you live as one who truly understands their freedom?

2. Deliverance from Sins (A lifetime work)

The good works that come from the faith that we have in God are NOT the Faith we have in God
They are the evidence of the Faith we have in God
Our change according to the law becomes our faith on display for the sake of Gods Glory
Do you read your Bible for the spiritual benefits of change by the Grace of Christ?

3. All that belongs Christ belongs to us. All of His promises pertain to you.

Eternal Life
Eternal Peace
Eternal Love
Eternal Joy
Eternal Paradise
Eternal Fellowship
Eternal Goodness
etc.....
Are you excited to further inherit this/fully inherit it Heaven
Romans 4:16 ESV
That is why it depends on faith, in order that the promise may rest on grace and be guaranteed to all his offspring—not only to the adherent of the law but also to the one who shares the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all,

This work cannot be undone.

Philippians 1:6 “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.”
Philippians 2:13 “for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.”
Romans 8:38–39 ESV
For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
