After the celebration of the nativity of Jesus and, as a confession that he is true God and true man the Church celebrate the Motherhood of Mary

What is the meaning to call her mother of God? many people when hear this name they are afraid and imagine that the Catholics confess that Mary is the origin of the Divinity that is why they reject and are scare to this name, this is far for it, because with the confession of this title we confess that Mother Mary is the mother of Jesus Christ, and because Jesus is God, we confess that Mother Mary is Mother of God.

This title led us to the two confessions of Christians: that Jesus is God, and if God has something distinct of him, that is his Son, we start to see the revelation of the Holy Trinity, in Jesus God reveal that he has a son, and also a Holy Spirit that join both of them by love.

The title of Mother of God is the best title to Mother Mary, it says even that mother Mary only give the flesh to Jesus in his womb, the one has been born form her is also God, so she is the mother of God.

With the analogy a human birth, even the mother only gives the flesh to a boy, and God give the soul, is called Mother of that person, no of the body of that person.

And this title has tremendous consequences on behalf of Mother Mary.

First it elevates mother Mary to and unique relation with God, a relation as Mother of the son of God.

It makes Mary with the closest union with God after the union of the humanity of Christ with the divinity of Christ.

That is why we call her blessed because the almighty has done great thing to her…

And the confession that Mary Mother of God, is that safeguard wherewith we seal up and secure the doctrine of the Apostle from all evasion, and that test whereby we detect all the pretenses of those bad spirits of "Antichrist which have gone out into the world".

It declares that He is God; it implies that He is man; it suggests to us that He is God still, though He has become man, and that He is true man though He is God.

By witnessing to the process of the union, it secures the reality of the two subjects of the union, of the divinity and of the manhood.

If Mary is the Mother of God, Christ must be literally Emmanuel…

The Church and Satan agreed together in this, that Son and Mother went together; and the experience of three centuries has confirmed their testimony, for Catholics who have honored the Mother, still worship the Son, while Protestants, who now have ceased to confess the Son, began then by scoffing at the Mother.

So brother when we confess that Mary is Mother of God we confess that “when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law”

If he born of a woman that woman is his mother, and if he is God, she is the mother of God, and if he was sent: “to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship”

She is also our mother, so today we are celebrating and confession that Mother Mary is no only Mother of God but also our Mother, trough baptism we are another Christs.
