Today we will be starting literally at the beginning
with creation
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Q. everyone asks themselves where we come from. How did we get here.
2 choices
1. by an intelligent creator.
2. by random chance.
The leading stumbling block for the atheist is the fine tuning of the universe.
Examples of fine tuning
gravitational pull
inner workings of protons and nuetrons
planet rotations and distances
inner working of the human mind and body
Even the most skeptic atheist can not avoid the fact that all of the evidence points to a creator
and would you believe it!
The Bible details our God as creator
in the first verse
If He created all things then who created Him?

Read verse 2-5
ex Nihilo— out of nothing
God spoke the world into existence
spoke light into existence on the first day
and said it was good.

God spoke the dry land and seas into form
READ VERSE 11- 13
still 3rd day
God speaks plants, fruit trees , and all vegetation into existence.
Bring attention to the fact that after each event
it says there was evening and morning the 3rd day.

and then He saves the best for last.
Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap, which have neither storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds?

This is because you were designed in the image of God with the capacity to hold relationships like Him.

You need to start taking relationships with others more seriously and build strong relationships with those around you

Being made in His Image also means that you have capacity to have relationship with Him

Love is the key to relationships--- friends, spouse, God, work
Life is about relationships
A. Pour love into your relationships

Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

You can choose Good or Evil
Sin or righteousness
Jesus or the world
YOU can choose to pour into relationship with Him
or not
Read verse 28-31
God Saw everything He made was very Good
He has given you as a man and woman
THE IMAGE OF GOD —Imago Dei
He did this so that you would live your life in a way that would Glorify Him.
That you would Live for Him and in relationship with Him
One of the last implications to being made in His Image
is that we are eternal beings
....
