Apostels creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,

maker of heaven and earth;

And in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord;

who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,

born of the Virgin Mary,

suffered under Pontius Pilate,

was crucified, died, and buried;

on the third day he rose from the dead;

he ascended into heaven,

and sets at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;

for he shall come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,

the holy catholic** church,

the communion of saints,

the forgiveness of sins,

the resurrection of the body,

and the life everlasting. Amen.

“Making A Difference”

Read question page.

So the people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money… or the most awards. They simply are the ones who care the most.

Are we looking in the right places when we look for guidance and inspiration? Have you ever thought of people who make a social impact? No, don’t mean singers or entertainers. What about the people who engage in activities that address social issues, or those who work to alleviate suffering. yes do the things Jesus commands us to do in the bible. what about the people who donate of their time, or their resources. Yes the people who do their best to improve the well being of others. these are all ways we can make a difference in others life. Who do we know that does these things in their life? This is who we should look to as people who make a difference. Who do we look to?

Are we seeing who is right in front of us? The people in our church. I had the privalage to work with some amazing kids on New Years who gave up sleep and things they wanted to do to come help the adults at the city mission prepare and serve food. Not exactly what they had in ind as a fun day, but I seen a group of adults and kids work together for a common goal and had fun doing it. The intense concentration when using a parry knife was amazing to see them grow. and no cuts I might add. Their willingness to do what ever task ask and not complain. Parents longing for an afternoon to relax after a long holiday season, but giving of their time to show what it takes to make a difference. I have done a lot of work at the mission and to see how guest at the mission react to a group giving of them selves for them was amazing. In bible study we talked about how our actions can make an impact on others. It was amazing how each person being served that day was changed by the love and smiles our people shared with them that day. So when it tells us in

Proverbs 19:17

Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done.

So what was our reward for working at the mission the kindness that the guest felt the happiness they showed for our work. You see the rewards God gives us for our gifts are unmatched the warmth in our hearts and the smile on another. Is a gift from God knowing we are making a difference. Who do we look to to make a difference in our lives? We need to look no further than the lord he always puts the right person in our lives to lift us up to make us smile and to share the little things that mean so much to others. I want to share with you the text I recieved from Carrie Weiman on how her mother reacted when she saw the card Mike made and we all signed for her.

“The card was fantastic! Mom was so surprised by it and she had no Idea there were signatures inside until I opened it and showed her. it made her day. You see it’s the little things that make the most impact and when we do these things God tell’s us in

Luke 6:38

38 Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

Each of us should give what we have decided in our heart to give, not reluctantly but freely to honor Jesus christ for all he freely does for us each day. Remember even the smallest act can make a difference.
