Ephesians 6:10-13....Ready To Stand

Psalm 16:8 “I have set the Lord always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.”

INTRODUCTION

As everyone has started to try and fullfill their resolutions for the new year, I pray that they do not try to do it alone.
Me personally, i do not believe in resolutions, I believe in revelations....the divine or supernatural disclosure to humans of something relating to human existence or the world:....TALK, PREACH....God will show me the path for me....
i am not against resolutions but i just everyone to understand that in order to achieve it, you have to not do it by yourself....
for example, you say you want to give up sweets but by yourself, that temptation is strong. but with the right help, you will be Ready To Stand against it...
and that goes for everything in our lives, for you to be Ready to Stand, you have to have the right help on your said.....
the devil will try his best to deceive you, tempt you and draw you away from your goals, from God.....TALK, PREACH...
but how many of you know that even the devil has to obey God.....what did He tell him over in Job.....TALK, PREACH...
And with so much going on in this world, we need to be Ready to Stand.
I was looking at something online and they were talking about the Simpsons and their predictions for this year. I looked at some of them and saw where some things had come to pass in previous years but, that doesn’t bother me because I know who holds tomorrow....
Matthew 6:34 says “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
why shouldn’t we be worried about tomorrow because we know who holds tomorrow and if He gives us more mercy and gives us another day, we should be Ready To Stand because He is with us....
Family and I just love how the Lord works....how He gives me what to feed His people with...
On Christmas Eve, we looked at Immanuel, God with us, well a question came to my mind and I asked myself… Do we truly understand what that means and do we apply to our lives....
not just that but the entire bible....
So next he gave the lesson for the institute and we looked at to truly understand, and to apply and to spread.....TALK, PREACH....
next I asked the question, as we go higher in our walk and strengthen our relationship are we ready for the war....TALK, PREACH…Denzel quote....
and as the appointed under sheppard, I can not send God’s people into battle unprepared.....
my job is to give it as it is given to me....
because as we go deeper in His word....as apply it to our lives and as we continue the work and spread the good news the devil will come around and we must be Ready To Stand....
Let’s walk.....
Ephesians 6:10–13 “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”

BODY...

We sing the song, I am on the battlefield but are you ready for the war....
Paul’s letter to the church at ephesus, has two general purposes, 1, to reveal the purpose of God for His people through Jesus Christ and 2, to encourage the church....
and as new believers Paul knew that they would need alot of encouraging and also the necessary info to help them on their journey.....
remember, (denzel qoute).....TALK
these new believers needed to be ready to stand for what was about to come....
and if you are sincere about your relationship and going deeper and higher with Christ, family let’s be Ready To Stand...
Paul shows us four important things in this text today....
1, who our faith, trust, and strength comes from
2, the strategy of the devil
3, who were are fighting
4, and our duty....
Let’s walk...
Ephesians 6:10 “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.”
Literally, Paul wrote strengthen yourselves in the Lord.
and for us to be ready to stand, First, you must be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians & Colossians C. The Demands of Spiritual Warfare (vv. 10–20)

If we are going to have adequate strength for the spiritual battles of life, it must be the Lord’s strength. Only he has the mighty power sufficient to win spiritual battles against the demonic enemy.

TALK,PREACH.....
Jon Courson’s Application Commentary (Chapter 6)
This is a particularly good word for us today, for I believe we live in the generation of the weak minded....
what is that saying, if you don’t stand for something, you will fall for anything.....

How do we receive this strength to stand? By realizing that we are seated with Christ in the heavenlies far above all of Satan’s principalities and powers (1:19–23), and that the very power of God is available to us through the indwelling Spirit (3:14–21).

Once a person has the presence and power of God within their heart, it is then that they begin to be ready to stand against whatever the enemy throws at them.....TALK PREACH....
Ephesians 6:11 “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”
the strategy of the devil...
the word WILES....literally, “schemes sought out” for deceiving
Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians & Colossians C. The Demands of Spiritual Warfare (vv. 10–20)

Satan is a deceiver and a destroyer (Rev. 12:9). He deceives in order to destroy.

Paul is not calling on the believers to be ready for a physical, straightforward battle; rather, the conflict for which he is preparing them is one based on cunning deceit

TALK, PREACH...
Couple of examples.....
satan will hit you with the lust of your eye and flesh.....
he will send a false teacher......
TALK, PREACH...
Ephesians 6:12 “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”
Paul used a variety of terms to refer to our spiritual enemies. We should regard them as being on many different levels and of many different ranks, yet they all have one goal: to knock the Christian down from their place of standing.
history tells us that During Paul’s ministry in Ephesus, a riot took place that could have destroyed the church (Acts 19:21–41). It wasn’t caused only by Demetrius and his associates, for behind them were Satan and his associates.
TALK, PREACH....(that person that got under your skin....what’s that old the devil made them do it…)

We are not to get sidetracked fighting against mere flesh and blood. We’re to battle the spiritual entities that cause tension in our marriages, problems with our children, struggles with our parents. These entities are organized into principalities.

TALK, PREACH....
Ephesians 6:13 “Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”
How can we be ready to stand...
by taking up the whole armor of God...
Paul introduced the idea of the whole armor of God back in Ephesians 6:11. In the following passage he details the specific items related to the armor of God. In this verse, he simply states what the main purpose of armor of God
That you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand: This describes the purpose for the strength of God and the armor of God; what we are to use them for.
let’s see how he describes the armor...
Ephesians 6:14–17 “Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;”
TALK, PREACH...
Family,I don’t what your plans are for 2024 but remember when you are doing right, the devil will rear his ugly head.
But if you know the Lord for yourself and are ready to stand...
Let’s stand like this...
We stand in grace
.We stand in the gospel
We stand in courage and strength
We stand in faith
We stand in Christian liberty
.We stand in Christian unity
.We stand in the Lord
We should stand perfect and complete in the will of God
TALK, PREACH, CLOSE.....
